Dear friends and Sprout families
We are SO hopeful our little Pre-School will be able to reopen its doors this coming fall for the 2021-2022 school year!

If your family has come through our program before or you know us personally you already know how much we adore our weekday program and how we were heartbroken at having to close our doors for the first time in our preschools 35+ year history.

We have decided to open a “pre-enrollment” period starting now. We need to get an idea of how many people would be interested or DEFINITELY wanting to enroll their child. We are a small weekday program, but we still need to fill all of our enrollment spots in order to reopen our doors.

If you have come through our program and love it, PLEASE share this post! The best way to help is to share your experience with friends and family!

Our half-day 3 and 4 year old school year runs from September to early May.
Monday-Thursday 8:30am-11:30am
We are primarily a Play-To-Learn setting, using music, art, crafts, pretend play, STEM and fine motor skills practice to instill confidence and start your child’s educational experience off with an excitement for going to school while finding joy in learning.

To enroll, your child must turn 3 before September 1st and be using the potty independently.

For families that want to pre-enroll there will be a $50.00 enrollment fee to hold your spot. If by August 1, we do not have enough enrollment to open our doors that enrollment fee *WILL be refunded.

I hope your summer has been a great one despite our worlds circumstances. Our family has spent the last several months looking for and finding the good things in each day. It is my hope that you’ve been able to do the same as we fight through the fear of the unknown.

Myself and Mrs. Trenace have spent many hours in prayer, seeking wisdom from outside sources in the medical and teaching fields and have consulted with our Pastor after months of trying to make an educated decision on the 2020-2021 Preschool year in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Every decision we make is well thought out, prayed over and reached considering our Little Sprouts and their families.

It is with a heavy heart upon a mutual decision between us and our Pastor, that we will not be opening for the 20-21 school year. We are heartbroken over losing this year and the relationships we would be making with our new families and all the amazing, fun and exciting things we wanted to share with our Sprouts. Our little Preschool has been open for 35+ years, to my knowledge this will be the first time we will close our doors. It is important for you all to know this is only for this current year and our sincere hope is to be back up and running for the next school year(21-22). This is only a see you later and not a farewell.

At this time we do not feel distance learning is in the best interest of our Preschool. However, we do plan to maintain an online presence. We will post fun activities, bible story videos, songs and story times you can do at home.
I would also like to offer Preschool take home packets (free of charge) you may come pick up at a designated time each month that you and your preschooler can do at home this year. In the doing of that we would include a supply list of what you will need to keep at home to go along with the packets.

We will of course be around to answer any questions you have just like we would during a regular school year. My inbox is always open.

It is our hope that for our PK-3 class that would’ve been incoming this year, would consider us for their PK-4 year when we come back next fall.

Please know this decision was so tough but we have felt a peace that only God can deliver that we have made the right one. We will continue to pray that God turns the ashes of our sadness in this missing school year into beauty for the next years to come.

Enrollment for our 2019-2020 Preschool year is open now! We are a half day Christian program that runs Monday-Thursday from 8:30-11:30. Children must turn 3 before September 1st and be using the potty independently. Our preschool is a play to learn environment offering arts and crafts, music, weekly bible stories and a fun hand picked curriculum that prepares your child for many important beginner things like using scissors, lining up, name recognition, social skills, holding a pencil, imaginative play and much more. Our 4 year olds will also enjoy curriculum from Handwriting Without Tears as they learn letter recognition and intro to writing.

Parents! FBC has transformed our gym into a Christmas Village. There’s so many things to do for adults and children. Come check it out tonight or tomorrow night and stay for the program put on by our adult and children’s choir!

Don’t miss out! Saturday and Sunday @ 6 pm
Come and join us at FBC Okmulgee for our Second Annual FREE Christmas Village featuring a Mission Center highlighting mission work being done around the world, a schoolhouse where kids can make ornaments for their trees at home. There will also be a photo booth, an art display area, vendor booths with crafted goods, Sweet Shoppe with fresh baked cookies, and a General Store where donations for the Okmulgee County Food Pantry will be accepted.
Doors open at 6:00 each evening, with a great Chrismas Musical with a wonderful message: "Christmas: Where? When? and Why?", beginning at 7:00!

Here are a few highlights from our 2017-2018 Preschool year!

At FBC Okmulgee Weekday Preschool we fully support a playing to learn approach.

3 and 4 year olds learn how to do life by playing.
If we get our hands dirty or make a mess.. we learn how to clean it up.

They learn problem solving and relationship building by making friends, sharing toys and taking turns.

We encourage make believe, dress up and imaginative play as these things build creativity in art and in story telling.

We sing songs, play games, talk about the weather, holidays and learn the days of the week. We focus on beginning letter recognition and the sounds each letter makes!

We spend our time creating art that goes along with our weekly themes as to get our preschoolers excited about what we are learning about. This helps to build confidence and independence in their own work!

We share a simple bible verse every 2 weeks and introduce stories adapted for children over the very real characters and stories from the Bible. Our hearts desire is that our Preschoolers learn from a young age who Jesus is and how much God loves them.

Our Preschoolers will be working on their fine motor skills getting them ready for pre-writing and pencil grip success.

We strive to make our school environment a safe, fun, happy and inviting place to learn and grow.

In fact our school motto is
“Rooted in faith, growing in love”

Our half day program offers a fun introduction to school while learning through play, arts and crafts, music and story time for Children ages 3 and 4.
We have theme weeks while learning colors as well as letter of the week.

Our curriculum offers an introduction to Handwriting Without Tears with focus on fine motor skills to help lay the foundation for pre writing.

Each day is met with a readiness to see learning as an exciting adventure while also promoting Christian values.

Did you know learning through play is how Preschoolers figure out life and the world around them? We encourage lots of free play and provide structured play centers in each of our classrooms! Dancing, singing, silliness and playing pretend is a must ❤️

We are two and a half weeks into our school year and it's going wonderfully! Our classes are full for this year but it's never to early to think about next year. Give us a shout if you would like more information on our weekday program!
