Omg I love this. He’s talking about creative process and how it has to have structure while leaving room for the unexpected.

Today actors from the Special Olympics are performing in the 100th show I have directed in the last 12 years. This experience was unlike anything I’ve attempted before….while requiring every bit of knowledge I have learned in the 99 shows before.

I had to offer a script and lessons and encouragement and then see what each actor could bring to the table after they felt safe and seen—and adjust from there.

Also, if I haven’t said this many times over— Lydia Jackson and I make an amazing team. She has been extremely helpful. Actors laugh when she finishes my sentences….and then translates my sentences! 😂

In this 4-week, interactive, inclusive camp, students will learn the basics of creating a character, audition, be cast, and perform on our Virtual Stage under the gentle direction of an engaging teacher! All the fun! None of the anxiety!

It’s occurred to me that a Ms. Jackson’s Theatre family may have a home church that would host us 2026 fall? Will you please speak with your pastor?

*One afternoon/week
(Monday? Wednesday? Friday?)

*4:30-6:30 pm

(September through mid November?)

*I was paying $400/session at the last location

The program is for 8-18 year old theatre students. They are always supervised. We take good care of the area. The shows are G rated (Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, Wizard of Oz, etc). I’ve been doing this for 10 years and I can get you so many recommendations! ❤️
