Eighty-one years ago today, the war in Europe ended.

This year, OSUIT turns 80.

Those two facts aren't a coincidence. Our campus was the Glennan Military Hospital — housing wounded U.S. soldiers and prisoners of war. When the war ended, Oklahoma A&M bought the property for $1 and opened a school. The vast majority of the first 456 students were all veterans.

The end of WWII helped mark the beginning of OSUIT: A school built on the belief that accessible, high-quality education empowers individuals, strengthens communities, and drives economic growth.
