Human Trafficking is very real, very active and right in our backyard. In fact it's been going on for a long time and is just now gaining momentum on the publicizing of it.

Here is an excerpt from an article written by Jana Allen featured in the Oklahoman Newspaper, June 2019.

"Seven cases of criminal human trafficking in Oklahoma moved through the federal courts in 2018, with five defendants convicted that year.
Oklahoma ranks 28th in the nation for the number of active criminal human trafficking cases going through federal courts, according to a report released by the Human Trafficking Institute, which looks at all federal human trafficking court cases in the United States and its territories in 2018.
Nationwide, there were 771 active human trafficking cases; 680 of those were criminal cases and 91 were civil cases, according to the Federal Human Trafficking Report.
Of Oklahoma’s seven active cases, two of those were initiated in 2018 and the five convicted defendants were from two cases in Western Oklahoma. Oklahoma was ranked 22nd for new cases and 19th for number of convictions."

To give some perspective, this is just of REPORTED cases.
