Do you know or have a non-speaker over 5 years of age?
Check out the Spellers Collective, founded by Miranda Lawrence, an autism mom and a wonderful educator that I worked with for years.
What is the Spellers Collective?
Spelling to Communicate (S2C) enables nonspeaking, unreliably speaking, and minimally speaking people to communicate by pointing to letters on a letterboard or keyboard as an alternative form of communication. This method teaches the motor skills necessary to effectively bridge the gap between cognitive and motor abilities through repeated practice.
Who is it for?
Any nonspeaking, unreliably speaking, or minimally speaking individual. While many spellers are autistic, the Collective welcomes those with various disabilities like Down Syndrome and Angelman Syndrome.
Visit their website or give Miranda a call.
