Congratulations to Kailee Marshall, Oklahoma School Counselor of the Year 2026!

The Oklahoma School Counselor Association is proud to announce that Kailee Marshall, School Counselor at Roosevelt Middle School in Oklahoma City, has been named the 2026 Oklahoma School Counselor of the Year. This prestigious recognition celebrates Kailee’s unwavering commitment to students, her exceptional leadership, and her passion for creating meaningful change in her school community.

Kailee has served as a School Counselor at Roosevelt Middle School for the past four years. Prior to becoming a counselor, she spent two years in the classroom as a teacher before earning her Master of Education in School Counseling. She is currently continuing her professional journey by working toward licensure as a Professional Counselor, further demonstrating her dedication to growth and service.

Known for her dedication and leadership, it has been said that Kailee “works tirelessly to create a school culture that is inclusive, supportive, and focused on the holistic development of all students.” She leads with integrity, compassion, and a deep belief in the potential of every student - qualities that shine through in every interaction, initiative, and program she champions.

Through hard work, vision, and strong collaboration, Kailee and her school counseling team achieved remarkable success this year. They earned the OSCAR award from the Oklahoma School Counselor Association in October 2025 and went on to receive the highly respected Recognized ASCA Model Program (RAMP) designation from the American School Counselor Association in February 2026 - an accomplishment that reflects excellence in implementing a comprehensive, data-driven school counseling program.

As the Oklahoma School Counselor of the Year, Kailee will now be considered for the American School Counselor Association School Counselor of the Year award at the national level. She will be honored by ASCA in Washington, D.C. in February 2027 and will represent Oklahoma at the ASCA Annual Conference in Columbus, Ohio, in summer 2027.

On behalf of the Oklahoma School Counselor Association, congratulations, Kailee! Your dedication, leadership, and heart for students make a lasting difference every single day. This honor is richly deserved, and we are incredibly proud to celebrate you and the impact you continue to make across Oklahoma.

OKCPS Families:

If you have a student currently in grades 5-11 considering participating in any athletics program for the 2026-2027 school year, make sure you take advantage of this amazing FREE opportunity! Throughout the month of May we have 4 dates at 4 different locations across the city providing FREE Physicals to the scholar athletes of OKCPS.

All dates, locations and times are listed in the graphic. Transportation will be provided from school sites not hosting, but parents are also encouraged to bring children on their own. Have your student talk to his or her coaches or Site Athletic Director/Coordinator to get more information and the necessary paperwork.

Make sure your student is at school and comes with their team on their assigned day to save you the time and cost of getting a physical from anywhere else this year!

I am so proud of our students tonight, both players and spectators. Their character and sportsmanship are so impressive. Thank you families for raising such incredible kids and supporting them every single time. Thank you Ross staff for always showing the most support!

Our boys soccer will play Jefferson at Miller stadium 6:30 PM for the bracket championship!!! Please wear all black and come support our amazing Rocket Soccer Team!! We need to pack the stands and be LOUD!

Families, as a precaution, students and staff were evacuated from the building earlier today due to an unusual smell in the building. The OKC Fire Department investigated and deemed the building safe. All students and staff are back in the building and the school day is continuing as usual.
