Luxor, Egypt 🇪🇬
Highlights:
Driving through local villages, a sand storm, Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut Temple, & Alabaster.
There’s so much history in Luxor, I barely scratched the surface but I thoroughly enjoyed what I was able to learn in a short amount of time.

Aswan, Egypt 🇪🇬
Highlights:
Learning about Nubia and touring Nubian villages, Philae Temple, Eggplant Salad, Hibiscus Tea, Turkish Coffee, My female tour guide named Ida who taught me about their culture and what it’s like to be a female in Egypt. 🙏🏼

Cairo, Egypt 🇪🇬
Cairo reminded that there is good and bad everywhere, and traveling solo safely is not always a given. I had been told that Egypt was not a safe place for American female travelers, but I thought since I had lived in Turkey and experienced parts of the Middle East before that I would know how to handle it. I was wrong.
Luckily I made it out of a bad situation and will forever be more cautious and probably somewhat paranoid.
My main takeaways or highlights are a little odd on this one, but here goes nothing:
• the pyramids are cool
• the city is very dirty
• my sister is not allowed to go here alone
• I do not need to come back
My recs for friends:
• if you want to see the world and learn other cultures like I do, this is not a place to save money and culturally immerse yourself. Book the tour bus with the biggest group you can find. Stay at the chain hotels. Pay extra for a female guide to be with you at all times, and even then, be overly cautious 😅❤️

Highlights:
Everything Moroccan, but on the beach. ☀️ long walks, the best pastries, colorful art, & kind people.
Cannot explain how much I love Morocco. I can’t wait to go back and explore more.

I may not have gotten to run as planned, but spectating a world major marathon never disappoints! I’m ready for my 6 star medal (spectator edition) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!
So happy to cheer for my friends, strangers, and ! Spectating will forever be one of my favorite things.
