To all of our KA! friends and families,

I was unprepared for the outpouring of emotion on this page, and the heartfelt thank yous that have been received. I'm here to tell you as loudly as I can....

THE THANKS ARE ALL OURS!

We are forever grateful for the gift of all of your love and support through the years. Every single one of your children, your families, your strengths and your challenges taught us what we needed to know to be successful, and sustained us through many a difficult situation. You filled our hearts with joy and our minds with possibilities.

I would prefer not to leave you with an image of the KA! logo shrouded by a computerized curtain closing silently around us.
That is not the picture of KA! that needs to remain in your heart.

The face of KA! is each and every one of you. Your hearts, your joy, your laughter, your tears. The beauty of KidsAlive! is that we recognize a fundamental truth - that EVERY person, regardless of age, race, background, financial status, abilities, or yes.. even emotional baggage.... is worthy, has value, and can succeed. Musical Theatre was and IS the ideal medium to allow the seeds of that truth to blossom and grow into something unique and beautiful: a performance -- but there is so much more.

Look at some of these faces from our early performances of Aristocats, JR and High School Musical, Jr. Know that these are just a tiny segment of the families that we touched in our time as an organization, and each and every one of those hearts in the years we were together are still beating with the intentions and values that we shared at KidsAlive!

~ Every individual (that means you!) has inestimable value and abilities that go way beyond your own understanding.

~ Every thought, every action, every word that you speak has power and impact on those around you... and beyond.

~ No one works alone - together we can do anything we set our hearts and minds to.

~ Begin from your heartspace and let your light shine and grow and reach outside yourself to every nook and cranny around you. Never work from the outside looking in, you see only your own limitations. Your potential for change is unlimited.

~ Look up, reach out, take action, YOU can make a difference.

Although the forces that kept KA! together as an organization have shifted, I can see that the heart of KidsAlive! is still alive and well in each and every one of you. It is my dearest hope that you will hang on to the concepts that KA! has shared with you. Know that we achieved great things because of you, and always remember that you have the power to take all of the good things you experienced with us out into your homes, your families, your communities, and the world. Our reach will continue as long as you continue to look up and touch those around you.

And just like that the KA! summer has come to an end. Thank you to all the student and adult performers for sharing your talents with us. Thank you to our amazing staff for all you do to make these shows possible and thank you to the parents and friends that support these young people.
