Reminder it’s not too late to get tickets the Putnam City Athletic Hall of Fame Banquet, Monday, August 25, 2025.

They will be honoring and inducting the 1972 Putnam City Baseball Team in which our 1974 Classmate Jackie Schuman was on!

Congratulations Jackie! 🏴‍☠️

The 1972 Putnam City Baseball team is the third Putnam City Baseball team to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. They follow the 1937 and 1945 State Champion teams for the Pirates. The 1972 team won the schools third baseball State title by defeating Tulsa East Central 7-2 in the Championship Game. The team was led by some big names, including Putnam City Hall of Famers Steve Largent, Bob Shirley, Darrel Johnson & Pat Ryan. Other key members were Jackie Schuman, Terry Naeher and Sam Lisle. The team was coached by Larry Geurkink. Geurkink went on to coach at Southwestern Oklahoma State for 22 seasons and is in the Hall of Fame for the Bulldogs. They will be inducted into the Putnam City Athletics Hall of Fame at the banquet on the evening of August 25th at Victory Church (4300 N. MacArthur). Ticket information coming soon!
