NRA CCW Instructor Course Announcement!!!

I’ve been waiting to have enough time to put on this course. It’s now something I can devote to properly.

This course is extremely rigorous and challenging. This course requires the previously trained NRA Pistol Instructor to fire several courses of fire from the holster and concealment. NRA Pistol Instructor is a prerequisite for this course, no exceptions.

This class will be limited to 12 students. I already have 4 signed up. Cost is $250

This course will be held at the OKC Gun Club on January 6th & 7th, 2024 (Saturday/Sunday).

NRA Pistol Instructor Course

Friday October 13th thru Sunday October 15th, 2023. 8a to 5p each day.

Friday - Basic Student Pistol Course
Saturday - Basic Instructor Training (BIT) and Pistol Instructor Course
Sunday - Pistol Instructor Course

This course will take place at Meadhall Range in McLoud, Oklahoma. Meadhall Range provides a very nice classroom setting and an outdoor range with many options.

Range Fees are $30/day, so it will be $90 total paid directly to Meadhall Range.

The course is $300 and includes all classroom materials for both the Basic Student Pistol and Pistol Instructor Course. Students will need 200 rounds of ammunition and a safe/reliable firearm. Students will also need eye/ear protection.

This 3 day course allows the successful instructor candidate to apply with the State of Oklahoma to teach the Oklahoma SDA Course (Self Defense Act). This course also allows Law Enforcement Officers to qualify other members from their agency for yearly qualifications. I confirmed this information with C.L.E.E.T.

There are only 15 seats in this class. $150 deposit holds your seat. The remaining balance of $150 will need to be paid by 10/1/2023. I only order materials for fully paid students.

One of the areas I will be focusing on in my retirement from Law Enforcement will be teaching and spreading knowledge about the safe use of fi****ms. What I have learned about the fi****ms training market is there are not enough “Basic Fi****ms Trainers”. Everyone wants to be the next tactical guru out here. I am not mad at them at all, but before you can be that guy you need to learn the basics. Basic fi****ms training and safety is a must and really is all that most folks need to get by in life.

I am that guy who likes to take the individual who has never fired a gun and build their confidence. So very often I meet someone who has their carry permit but isn’t carrying a gun. When I ask them why, they say “I took that class but I’m not confident in my ability to use the firearm”. Well, I am the guy who can help you with this problem.

I will not bore you with a long biography of my background in fi****ms instruction. I will simply list the credentials I have earned over the last 20 plus years. If you should decide you want some training for you and your family, please contact me. I can do individual trainings or group settings. I can come to the privacy of your home to teach you (your family) the hands on safety and follow up with a Range Training Day. Contact me for your specific needs and pricing.

This 3-Day Course will provide you the credentials needed to become an Oklahoma SDA (Self Defense Act)Instructor. It also allows you to become a Texas LTC (License to Carry)Instructor. Both States require further application upon successful completion of this Course.

This course will take place in Oklahoma City. Instructor Candidates will need to provide a serviceable firearm and 150-200 rounds of factory ammunition for the Range portion of the training. Candidates will also need their own eye and ear protection.

Cost is $300 for all 3 days. All classroom materials included.

****NRA CCW INSTRUCTOR****

Saturday June 19th and 20th, 2021

This is a 16 hour course that challenges the student and their shooting skills. Time will be spent moving from the classroom to the Range quite often throughout the two day school. Students must be an NRA Pistol Instructor prior to this course. This course builds on that knowledge.

This course will take place at the Oklahoma City Gun Club. Instructor Candidates will need to provide a serviceable firearm, appropriate concealment holster of choice, and 400 rounds of factory ammunition for the Range portion of the training. Candidates will also need their own eye and ear protection.

Cost is $300 and includes classroom materials.

As many of you know, the 2nd Amendment is under attack and we need many more people to step up and become fi****ms instructors.

I have over 20 years of fi****ms training as an instructor in many disciplines. I have taught 11-year old Boy Scouts to shoot a .22 rifle as well as Oklahoma City Police Officers in the use of handguns, shotguns, and patrol rifles.

Most anyone can teach you the basics of instructing. Being able to provide you the tools to recognize the smaller issues a student is having takes years to develop. I’m nowhere near the instructor I want to be but each day allows me to improve further. I have been fortunate enough to be trained by the best instructors who mentored me into the instructor I am today. And my first free lesson is impressing upon you “every student you teach, actually teaches you as well”. I seek the opportunity to learn from each of my students... yes, students are there to learn, but I enter each course with the mindset of learning something new.

I have received numerous requests for the NRA Pistol Instructor Course. This 3-Day course allows you to obtain your Oklahoma Self-Defense Act Instructor Certification. That certification allows you to teach the Oklahoma SDA Course. If you are unfamiliar with what that means... it’s the legal name of the Oklahoma Carry Course.

And yes... I am aware you no longer need this course to carry a firearm in Oklahoma. However Oklahoma’s Constitutional Carry doesn’t cover you outside the borders of Oklahoma.

For current NRA Pistol Instructors I will be offering the new 2-Day NRA CCW Instructor Course. The NRA did a good job with this course!

I am in the process locking down dates now! They will be this September and October. If you are wanting to attend, please let me know... I anticipate spots will fill up fairly quick due to the increased desire to become a well armed individual. I also know several police officers looking to have a retirement gig to stay active.

If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a thousand times. You have your own base of students. You have a student base that will likely only get this training because you offer it. You can get as creative as you want to draw students into your classroom!

The cost for each course is $250. This includes classroom materials. You will need your own firearm and ammunition. 200 rounds for the Pistol Instructor Course and 400 rounds for the CCW course.

If you want personal instruction, let me know... I offer two hours of personal instruction for two people for $75. I don’t know everything about everything but I know a little about a lot. I’m a teacher at heart and I will take your fi****ms game to your next level. I’m not “Tacticool”... I’m “Practical”.

Would like to acknowledge a couple of folks on some training I was able to attend this last weekend...

Keith Fisher came in from out of town and put on the NRA CCW Instructor Course. I have to say I like this new course from the NRA a lot. It’s challenging and pushes students to do some things with a gun many other courses do not. Keith did a great job and I appreciate his willingness to travel so I could get this training. Hope to run across him soon someday! Always nice meeting another “Conservative Brother from another Mother”! Stay Safe in your mission Sir!

Second pat on the back goes to Bill Armstrong who owns and operates Meadhall Range in McLoud, OK. Classroom setup is one I’m jealous of for sure! Bill has done a lot of work out there and it shows. I hope to have a setup like his someday! I will be doing more training out there and hopefully offering some training as well.

Another acknowledgment I’d like to make is to my very good friend, Kemit Grafton (aka-Old School), He’s literally 652 years old and can shoot lights out! Kemit is a retired Air Force LTC and after that, did many more years as a college professor! Before finally retiring and running around shaming youngsters by outshooting them every chance he gets!

I plan to offer this Instructor Course sometime this fall... we shall see how things play out with my upcoming schedule.

Okay... So I have had a few questions about choosing 3-3-3 Fi****ms Training as a name...

Very good question to answer!

Whether you subscribe to it being 3 feet or 3 meters or 3 yards... Let's just say that each of those distances are close and intimate!

So statistically "Violent Gun Encounters" occur within 3 feet, within 3 seconds, and with 3 rounds...

When you know that, does anyone really believe the traditional mindset of teaching marksmanship applies to most cases? The CCW/SDA mindset is completely different than taking a 300 yard shot with a scoped rifle at the Trophy Buck!

There's no doubt that you are still entirely responsible for every round you fire! But "Point Shooting" versus a "One Eye Closed, Take A Deep Breath, Line the Sights Up, and Squeeze" mentality may need to be considered...
