Field trip energy: massage school edition 🦴

Today the hybrid crew traded the classroom for the osteology museum — getting hands-on (literally) with the bones we talk about every week. There’s nothing like seeing the real thing to make anatomy click.

This is the kind of learning that sticks — not memorizing terms, but understanding the structures you’ll be working with for the rest of your career.

People ask us this all the time — so let's just lay it out clearly.

Swipe for the step-by-step path from zero to licensed LMT in Oklahoma.

"Oklahoma only requires 500 hours to become a massage therapist. So why does the path feel so confusing?"

Because nobody lays it out plainly. So here it is: complete your training hours at a state-licensed school, pass the MBLEx, apply for your license through the Board of Cosmetology and Barbering, and renew it each year. That's the whole shape of it. The hard part was never the steps — it was that no one handed you the map. Our 620-hour hybrid program in OKC builds in your MBLEx prep, your table, your textbooks, and your exam fee, so you can focus on learning the work instead of decoding the process.

Curious where to start? The link in our bio walks you through it.

Every week our students show up — to practice, to receive, to figure out what it actually means to help someone with their hands.

We are proud of this cohort. They ask good questions. They support each other. And they are becoming something.

If you're curious about what life looks like inside the program — ask them. Or ask us. We're an open book.

Everyone assumes massage school is mostly anatomy and technique. And yes — you'll know every muscle in the body.

But you'll also learn: how to hold space when a client is having a hard day. How to stay regulated when they're not. How to build a practice that doesn't hollow you out by year three.

Your next CE class is coming.

Foundations: Neck & Shoulders is a one-day NCBTMB Approved continuing education class happening Sunday, July 12 at Plaza Yoga & Bodywork in OKC.

We're going deep into the anatomy you touch every single session — with the clinical context to actually back up your work. Assessment, application, and the muscles that live between the occiput and the glenohumeral joint.

If neck and shoulder work is part of every session you do — and it is — this one's designed for you.

Full details and registration coming soon. Drop a 🙋 below if you want to be the first to know when it's live.

This is what I'm really teaching.

It's not the techniques. They matter — deeply — but they're not what I'm teaching. What I want for every student who walks through this door is steadiness. The ability to show up in a room with another person's body, their pain, their trust — and to know what you're doing. To know why you're doing it. To know yourself well enough to stay grounded in the work. That's what I'm teaching. The technique is the vehicle. You are the destination.

Save this if it captures something you needed to hear.
