TSA State Conference brought us two Dragsters in the top 30 out of over 100 entries, two semi-finalists in Drone Challenge and
one semi-finalist in Video Game Design. One of the two semi-finalist drone teams placed 3rd in the STATE.

Congratulations to all participants for making it to State and extra Congratulations to the semi-finalists and finalists.

Our officers did such an incredible job of representing our TSA Chapter and the school. They should be very proud of themselves.

Want to help send our Technology Student Association and Robotics students to competitions and conferences?

Send us candy from the gift registry for us to sell during our annual fundraiser!

The items selected for the list have a track record of being our best sellers.

We will be selling the first couple of weeks in December. We ask that all donations be delivered to Moore West Junior High by the week of November 18th. This will allow us time to organize materials for sale.

Know where you can get the items on our list at lower price? We will be just as thankful for the items when they are dropped off or delivered to MWJH (C/O Donna Haworth @ 9400 S Pennsylvania, OKC, OK 73159).

Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated!

Thank you for supporting our students who are learning to lead in a technological world!

Hi. 👋 It’s that time of year again. Prime Days on Amazon before the new school year.

I will be teaching THREE NEW CLASSES next year to mixed groups of 7th & 8th grade students. Students will be able to select Medical Detectives during first semester, Automation and Robotics second semester or IQ robotics all year course.

Today, I started my PLTW certification training for the new courses, but I have spent part of my summer already looking through the curriculum. I am nervous, but I’m also starting to get excited about what each of the courses offers our students.

You may have heard that Amazon Prime Days are the 15th and 16th.🛍️🛒🥳😁

While you are finding some great deals for yourself, I would love it if you would help me and my students by getting something for our classroom.

Many of the things on the list are items that will provide classroom supplies while others will allow us to add some relevant, hands-on projects. The other items are for the classroom in general or are for student incentives/rewards.

Don’t feel obligated, anything you do will be greatly appreciated. Even positive thoughts and prayers for the upcoming school year are welcome.

Remember: As a STEM teacher my list might look a bit different from other teacher lists.

Here is my Amazon list.

State Conference 2024 is a wrap!

During the summer, United Airlines funded a large DonorsChoose grant for my classroom. Part of that grant was a set of balsa planes.

I also had the same planes on my Amazon wish list. Thanks to a generous, anonymous donor, I was given more planes.

This generosity made it possible for me to give each student a plane instead of a pair of them working together to decorate and then label the parts. (We probably would have flipped a coin or just hung them up.)

Some teachers even joined in on the fun!

They really enjoyed painting and test flying their planes!

Our Robotics teams competed in our first tournament today. There were FORTY other teams.

Tigers, too, Team 9400B, placed 28th overall for the Teamwork Challenge.

The Tigers, Team 9400A, made it to finals and placed 7th overall for the Teamwork Challenge.

Both teams showed true grit and perseverance as they tackled issues with designing, documenting, building, and programming their robots. They networked and collaborated with teams from all over Oklahoma.

They left today with ideas and notes on how to improve their robots and increase their success for the next tournament. It truly was a delight to see the growth and accomplishments of both teams.

Hi,

I have set it up so that all donations to MWJH BoxTop’s account go to the Technology Student Association and Robotics. It will allow us to be able to bring students to competitions and reduce the cost passed on to students for attending events.

I am hoping that you will help me spread the word and increase the number of receipts submitted.

There is a BOXTOPS app available for both Androids and iPhones. All anyone needs to do is to download the app, select Moore West Junior High as their school while setting up their account, go shopping, and then scan the receipts. It's that simple. BoxTops then sends a check to the school and the money gets deposited into the TSA/Robotics account.

Will you guys help us out by getting the app, scanning your receipts, and by sharing this information?

Use referral code XQU87PYD when prompted.

You may have heard that Prime Days are TODAY and Wednesday. 🛍️🛒🥳😁

While you are finding some great deals for yourself, I would love it if you would help me and my students by getting something for my classroom.

I am adding a new semester course that covers Flight and Space. Most of the things on the list are items that will allow us to add some relevant, hands-on projects to this new, semester-long course. Other items are for the classroom in general or are for student incentives/rewards.

It’s also not too late to make a donation to my active/current DonorsChoose project.
