K-12 Teachers📣 We are now accepting submissions for Building Better Citizens: An Innovative Lesson Plan Contest for K–12 educators. Share a lesson plan that creatively uses questions from the United States citizenship test to help support teachers' use of the test in their classroom. Ten prize winners will receive cash awards, with the first-place winner receiving $5,000!
Submissions will be accepted through July 3, 2026, 10:00 p.m. PT.

All workshops will be led by Dr. Kristy Brugar from the University of Oklahoma, who will guide educators through engaging ways to explore Oklahoma’s New Deal post office murals, incorporate Library of Congress primary sources, and develop hands-on lesson ideas for the classroom.
Workshop Highlights:
• Hands-on history learning strategies
• Classroom-ready lesson ideas
• Primary source integration
• $100 stipend for participants
• Lunch provided

📣 Call for National History Day Judges 📣
We are looking for volunteers to serve as judges for two upcoming National History Day contests:
April 10 - Region 2 Competition at University of Central Oklahoma
May 6-7- Oklahoma Affiliate Contest at the Oklahoma History Center Museum (this contest determines who advances to the national contest)
No experience is necessary and all backgrounds are welcome - the only things needed are an open mind to all topics, an interest or experience in history or education, and enthusiasm for encouraging students!
