Holly Glover Life Well-Lived Scholarship

Holly Glover Life Well-Lived Scholarship

Share

This scholarship was established by Holly's family to honor her life well-lived. First, thank you so much for your generosity!!

Holly Glover had a passion for fitness through her triathlons and any event that included running, biking and/or swimming. Whether it was outdoors or indoors, Holly would be all in and encourage her friends to join her (as shown in the following memory from 2016, while she was undergoing her radiation treatment). In addition to competing in triathlons, Holly was a fitness trainer for over 13 years

George, Caroline and I intend to award two scholarships each year to honor the sport our family loves and Holly loved to coach. Two 2024 donor families stated it perfectly...

"In honor of Holly, who will never be forgotten and had such an amazing impact on this community. May her spirit live on through these scholarships."

"I was always so inspired by and so very proud of Holly and all of her accomplishments. She did it all with focus but also with that smile that would light up the room."

We have been blessed to work with OCCF to offer this scholarship for years and possibly decades to come. If you would like to donate to the scholarship fund, you can do so, with our utmost gratitiude, at https://occf.fcsuite.com/erp/donate/create/fund?funit_id=11428

Exciting news! Oklahoma City Community Foundation received over 80 applications that qualified for the Holly Glover Life Well-Lived Scholarship. We can’t wait to announce the first two recipients of this legacy award!

OCCF completed the first round of reviews and narrowed down the applicants to 17 finalists. The applicants’ essays are so impressive that they brought tears to my eyes, embodying everything that was Holly's life well lived.

On behalf of George and Caroline, I extend our gratitude to all who have generously donated to the scholarship fund thus far. Your contributions exceed this year’s $4000 in awards, which will continue to grow and ensure that Holly's legacy lives on through future scholars for many years.

We are forever grateful and blessed.

Holly Glover had a passion for fitness through her triathlons and any event that included running, biking and/or swimming. Whether it was outdoors or indoors, Holly would be all in and encourage her friends to join her.

In addition to competing in triathlons, Holly was a fitness trainer for over 13 years, as well as a swim and strength & conditioning coach for 10 years on three USA Swimming club teams and two teams for Oklahoma Swimming.

As a result, George, Caroline and I would Iike to honor Holly’s legacy and passion through the gift of not one but TWO college scholarships.

On the day of our 27th Wedding Anniversary (Nov 30th, 2023), I signed an agreement with the Oklahoma City Community Foundation to create the Holly Glover Life Well-Lived Scholarship

Each spring, starting in 2024, two $2,000 college scholarships will be awarded to applicants who competed in either Oklahoma high school or club swimming for at least two years. In addition, the recipients will have to demonstrate a Life Well-Lived through overcoming adversity, encouraging others to “do the hard things” and serving their community.

Both Oklahoma high school seniors and former Oklahoma Swimming (club/high school) students, currently competing on either collegiate or club swimming teams, are eligible to receive these scholarships.

Applicants may be Oklahoma high school graduating seniors (including charter, homeschool, public or private schools) OR current NCAA, NAIA or college club swimming students.

Applicants must demonstrate participation with and competition for a high school swim team and/or Oklahoma Swimming registered club team for a minimum of 2 out of their 4 years during their high school career. Must have a 3.0 GPA or higher.

It is our vision that these scholarships will be awarded for decades to come, thus creating a legacy for Holly’s passion for fitness, encouraging others to “do the hard things” and giving back to the community she so loved.

NOTE: the DEADLINE to apply each year is MARCH 1st.

Many of you have asked how you can also support Holly’s legacy through these scholarships. First, thank you so much for your generosity!!
