Last night SCAN’s Weather Friends showed up and showed out for the OKC Blues Severe Weather Themed night! This event featured several of the academic and research units across the National Weather Center, including NOAA NSSL, CIWRO, the Oklahoma Mesonet, and School of Meteorology Outreach (SoMo). Thanks for having us at the Paycom Center!

Tonight we celebrated SCANSGiving! Thank you to all who came out tonight and contributed to the potluck! A special thank you to for sponsoring tonight’s event with turkey, mashed potatoes, rolls, gravy, and more. Many people across the ate very well tonight.

The 2025 Natural Disaster Relief Fundraiser raised over $2,618 in disaster relief assistance for those impacted by Hurricane Melissa and the western Alaskan floods. Thank you to the generous supporters who made this amount possible! As part of the tradition, the top student organization that raised the most money during the fundraiser got pied in the face! Thank you again to all who made this year’s fundraiser a success!

A huge thank you to the amazing weather community that came out to the 2025 National Weather Festival! An additional thank you to the weather friends that were out an about today teaching people about the different types of weather that impacts us across Oklahoma.
