Founded in 1963, Westminster School is an independent, coeducational, non-sectarian day school with students in Pre-K through eighth grade.

Why Pre-K through 8th Grade? By focusing on the elementary school child, our teachers are able to respect a more natural time frame for learning. Our children are not rushed to grow up. Comfortable in the smaller, home-like environment of Westminster, our students have ample time to grow, learn, make mistakes, recover and try new things within a loving, accepting atmosphere. Both in good times and

Community Service Learning Monday!

In Primary Division classrooms, peace education begins with small, intentional choices. As students learn to care for their environment through recycling, they also discover the power of responsibility, respect, and mindful living. By reducing waste and reusing materials, they’re not just helping the planet, they’re practicing what it means to create a more peaceful, sustainable world for all. 🌎

Fourth graders study the essential question, β€œWhat does it mean to experience food insecurity, and how can we reduce this problem in our community?”

As part of the Great State Fair of Westminster students learned startling statistics and that one in five families in Oklahoma experience hunger. To make a meaningful impact, they are hosting a food drive now, through April 3, and collecting non-perishable items to support local families.

Items needed include canned tuna and chicken, canned fruits, cereal and oatmeal, soup and stew, pasta and canned sauces, beans (canned or dry), canned vegetables, and peanut butter.

Every donation helps nourish a neighbor. πŸ’™πŸ€πŸ’™

Community Service Learning Monday!

Our eighth graders are digging into the complexities of poverty, examining its root causes and the systems that impact families in our own Oklahoma City community. As they learn about local OKC non-profits working to alleviate poverty, students are moving beyond research and into meaningful collaboration.

Partnering directly with these organizations, eighth graders are eager to share their businesses! Students are hard at work creating, producing, packaging, and distributing their goods.

Recently, Primary Division students enjoyed hearing sales pitches and learning about various businesses.
