IMPACT 2026…A Group of Adult Education Directors, Coordinators, Instructors, Supporters, and Students gathered today to impress upon our Legislators the importance of Adult Education in Oklahoma. We shared graduate stories, the need for additional funding and a HUGE THANK YOU for passing HB3234 in 2024 which gave us our newest diploma option … the Oklahoma Career Readiness Diploma. What a great turnout on this important day!!!!

The Senate just passed a spending package for FY26 on a strong 71-29 vote that includes adult education funding. Barring anything unforeseen at this time, the House is expected to consider this bill Monday night. As a result of this delay in consideration there will be a partial government shutdown that begins at 12:01 in the morning. We will keep you posted as events unfold.

Adult education funding supports workforce pathways, English language learning, high school equivalency attainment, and career mobility for millions of adult learners nationwide. These investments also help employers fill critical, in-demand jobs and strengthen local economies.
