Last week, we celebrated two truly incredible longtime Special Care students as they completed their final lap through our halls as students at Special Care. Savannah has been part of the Special Care School Family for 16 years, and Christian for 22 years.

One of our most meaningful traditions is the Special Care Clap Out. Students, teachers, therapists, staff, families, and friends line the halls to cheer, clap, celebrate, and honor these remarkable graduates as they make their final lap through the halls of Special Care. There were smiles, tears, hugs, and so much joy as we celebrated the impact Savannah and Christian have had on our school and on all of us fortunate enough to know them.

Savannah and Christian, thank you for letting us be part of your lives. You will always be part of the Special Care Family and we will love you always!!!!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Hard Hats & Party Hats last week, celebrating Special Care’s 41st birthday! Whether you stopped by to sign the walls of our new building, shared a cupcake with us, sent a message, donated, volunteered, or simply cheered us on from afar, we felt your love and support every step of the way! Watching our friends, families, and community partners leave messages inside the walls of the future home of Special Care was something we will never forget.These walls are already filled with so much hope, joy, and love!

Thank you for believing in our mission and helping us build a brighter future for children of all abilities over these 41 years! We are so grateful to celebrate this exciting time with all of you!

CONGRATULATIONS to our 2026 Kindergarten graduates, Aaliyah, Boston, Dru, Dylan, Easton, Erik, Fabian, James, Josie, Maverick, Santi, and Timmothy! We are so very proud of each of you and we can’t wait to see what the future holds!

What a special week! Our “Dedication Through the Decades” Staff Appreciation Week was filled with fun surprises, treats, encouragement, and so much love for our incredible team. After 40 years of serving children of all abilities, we are so grateful for the staff who make this mission possible every single day!

A huge thank you to our dear friends at Sunnyside Diner for sponsoring breakfast for our staff, to SHOP GOOD for our amazing shirts, and to every donor, parent, and supporter who helped make the week so meaningful. Our staff felt celebrated all week long, and we couldn’t have done it without you! THANK YOU!!!

We are getting so excited for Staff Appreciation Week at Special Care! This year’s theme, Dedication Through the Decades, is officially bringing the fun May 4 through 8, and we cannot wait to celebrate our incredible team in a BIG way!

This year is extra special at Special Care! We are celebrating 40 years of serving children of all abilities and their families, and the truth is none of it would have been possible without the incredible teachers and staff who have carried this mission forward every single day!

For four decades, they have shown up with compassion, patience, and unwavering dedication, changing lives, supporting families, and creating a place where every child can learn, grow, and thrive.
