PreK had their Friendsgiving feast today. Happy Thanksgiving from JLD!!

Our 4th graders had an amazing time exploring the Oklahoma History Center yesterday! This trip brought our American Indian unit to life as students discovered artifacts, stories, and hands-on exhibits that deepened their understanding of the many tribes and cultures that shape our state’s history. So proud of their curiosity and excitement for learning!

4th grade and Mrs. Guffins has switched gears from Science to Social Studies. What better way to celebrate Native American Heritage month than to study the different Native American Indian groups in each region of the US and learn their way of life. They built Chickee Houses to represent the Southeast region.

Good behavior on the bus can earn you a trip the Dennis Bus Party! Students got to enjoy a fun time if they saved up their “bus bucks” or happened to get a coveted “golden ticket”!

Today was the last day of our October “fun”draiser event for OMRF cancer research, BOOK CHARACTER DAY!!! We had superhero’s, Doctor’s, Animals, cheerleaders, and lots of wizards in the building today.

Today was another “fun”draiser day for the Cancer Drive, enjoy all these crazy heads. We had hats, ears, ghosts, and lots of crazy hair!! Don’t forget our last “fun”draiser day is next Friday which is dress like a book character day (must abide by school dress policy- no weapons, fake blood, or super scary!) Don’t forget your $1.00’s

5th graders were partnered up with Kindergartners this morning to work on “shape people”. The Kindergartners got help from their 5th grade buddy to create a shape person that 5th graders will then learn sewing skills in Art with Ms. Gleeson to make these people come alive in the form of stuffies. We can’t wait to see what the final projects look like!

PreK and Kinder Dolphins got a visit from the firemen today. Kindergarten is studying Community Helpers so they were able to get an in-person experience. Looks like a great time touring the rig and spraying water!
