This group serves a as a forum for educators and the citizens of Oklahoma who are interested in creative networking for the recovery of displaced professionals and underserved students who have undeservedly suffered the most devastating consequences of the recent economic crisis.

The State of Texas is offering $100,000 in salary and incentives for classroom educators and $145,000 for principals.
Texas excels in the effort to fill vacancies while Oklahoma gave a $2,000 raise that comes with additional workdays, leaving the state struggling to fill vacancies.
Oklahoma teachers are looking at a move to Texas because it’s close to home and will provide a livable wage.
There is no word yet on how Oklahoma plans to handle teacher shortages. In the past the state has brought in teachers from other countries and lowered standards that allow people to teach without degrees.

In an effort to return local control to Oklahoma schools, Sen. David Bullard, R-Durant, recently filed legislation to repeal the state’s minimum salary schedule for teachers.
