Director of IT Operations Luke Hartman has recently stepped into an adjunct professor role after years of serving the OC community from the IT department. This semester, he is teaching the freshman Bible class titled “Israel and God’s Kingdom.” It's only natural that the nephew of beloved Missionary in Residence Kent Hartman would also be thoroughly educated with a Biblical Studies degree from OC and a Master of Divinity from the Harding School of Theology. Luke’s dad, Dale, is also an OC Bible alum.Thank you for your leadership, Mr. Hartman!

OC Dean of the College of Bible Dr. Jeremie Beller was recently interviewed for a book on the rise of Christian nationalism by author Warren Throckmorton. Dr. Beller was asked about terror management theory (from his dissertation), the unconscious fear of one’s own death, and how it can create a draw to nationalist movements. “The Christian Past That Wasn't” focuses on debunking the myths that drive Christians to fear. We’re excited to see our alumni using what they’ve learned to make an impact in their communities and encourage the next generation both on and off the course. Way to go, Brian! On March 12–15, students from the College of Bible had the opportunity to travel to Washington, D.C., and experience some incredible historical sites. Dean of the College of Bible Dr. Jeremie Beller and Instructor for the College of Outreach and Innovation Mel Latorre accompanied the students as the group visited the Museum of the Bible, the United States Capitol, the Library of Congress, and the National Mall. It was an incredible few days filled with learning, meaningful connections, and opportunities to grow in faith. OC is so blessed to provide experiences like this for our students!

The College of Bible is incredibly thankful for alum Kendon Murrell, OC’s director of Third Culture Kids and Helpers in Missions. We were blessed to hear from him at Faith Talks Chapel on March 13. His roles allow him to walk alongside students from diverse backgrounds and support mission work that reaches far beyond campus. OC is proud of you, Kendon!
