Welcome to our adventures in homeschooling. We are a Canadian family of 6 (4 humans and 2 wiener dogs), who homeschool and roadschool year round.

We are excited to share our adventures with you and we hope to inspire others to do the same!

Air as a substance

Last week we reviewed what comprises matter. It must have mass and take up space. It is easy to see that air can take up space (soda bottle when crushed, puckered cheeks and blowing up a ballon). But what about mass?

We setup our own scale and made sure to balance it before adding our balloons. One balloon was empty, while one was inflated with air. Although air doesn't weigh much at all, we still saw a shift in our scale confirming that air does have mass, thus proving it is in fact matter!

By accident we also learned about static electricity when our charged balloons kept trying to stick to the dogs 😂.

Soaking up every minute of our family adventures, and remembering to remain grateful for everything we have. Love this little life ❤️

If you ever have the chance to see an eclipse in totality, please do! I can't even describe the feeling we all felt when it hit totality. The atmosphere of both the people and environment was something I've never experienced before. Now onto another 1400mi back home 😂

Gorgeous Oklahoma sunset. We all had an awesome sleep last night. Fell asleep to a thunderstorm and woke up to beautiful, clear blue skies!

Las Vegas, NV to Las Vegas, NM. We "slept" in 80mph wind gusts all night. They were so strong that a few metal bars from our tent flew off 🫣. On the road super early at least 😂
