Congratulations to Ms. Ariah Gordon, Pleasant Hill's beloved 2nd grade teacher for receiving 2 RAD awards! Rookie Achieving and Developing Awards are given by Mid-Del School District from nominations submitted by staff members. Ms. Gordon has made a profound impression and impact on Pleasant Hill staff, students, and family members. She has served Cardinals for two years, earned a Bachelor's degree from Oklahoma State University, and begins graduate school at the University of Oklahoma this summer! We are honored to have you on our team, Ms. Gordon.

What an exciting day as we held a drawing for 'Almost Perfect Attendance' and our shining star winner is the incredible Lil Ms. Savea Olson! She's been wishing for a T.V. for her room, and it seems her determination has truly paid off as she gets what she asked for 😉‼️

Please note: Due to ongoing construction, Midwest City High School will not serve as a Summer Food Service Program site this year.

Families can visit the following locations for free breakfast and lunch this summer:

🗓 June 1 – June 24 | Monday–Thursday
🍳 Breakfast: 8:30–9:30 AM
🥪 Lunch: 11:15 AM–12:15 PM

📍 Del City High School
🗓 May 27 – June 5 | Closed Saturdays & Sundays
🍳 Breakfast: 8:00–9:00 AM
🥪 Lunch: 12:00–1:00 PM

Congratulations to Midwest City Senior Bombers who are graduating next Friday, May 22nd! It was great to have you here on the Hill, imparting wisdom to the PreK-5th Grade Cardinals!

Pleasant Hill's own - Ms. Darlene Stiggers, cafeteria supervisor, and Alaya Henderson, 3rd grader - volunteered for the Stamp Out Hunger Campaign, promoted and facilitated by the United States Post Office. The campaign requested donations from local citizens to be left at mailboxes, which were picked up by mail carriers the second Saturday in May. Ms. Darlene and Alaya were among many community volunteers generously working with the post office to separate canned goods and non-perishable items that day. The items were then loaded on the truck to supply the Oklahoma Regional Food Bank.

Forest Park Little Library

Love for literacy will be available soon via the Forest Park Little Library! Thank you to Carmen McBride with the Forest Park Neighborhood Association and artist Erin Latham, PhD, for facilitating, designing, and providing the opportunity for our Student Council to paint the Little Library box last Friday afternoon. We look forward to years of donating and seeking free books in our neighborhood.
