Did you know our mobile library runs on the power of the sun?

Most people don’t realize that our bus is equipped with 2,700 watts of roof-mounted solar panels, a backup battery bank, and an all-in-one inverter system

That means we can power computers, educational technology, lights, and other equipment even when we’re not plugged into shore power.

Why does that matter?

Because many of the communities we serve don’t have easy access to technology or learning resources. Our solar system helps us bring literacy, STEM, and hands-on learning directly to children wherever they are.

Every ray of sunshine helps keep learning on the road.

Innovation isn’t just about what’s inside the bus, it’s built right into the roof. 😉

Those words stopped me!

This beauty stepped onto the bus for the very first time. She absolutely loves to read, but she kept apologizing every time she picked out another book.

She didn’t need to apologize.

Children should never feel guilty for wanting to read. If a child is excited about books, that’s something to celebrate not limit. 🫶🏾

Who knew building words could turn into one of the biggest competitions of the day?

We put the kids’ reading skills to the test with a Word Relay Race… and let’s just say it was WAY more fun than we expected!

The best part? The kids were having so much fun they didn’t even realize they were practicing literacy skills.

A quick reminder!

Everything at the Summer of Stories Community Book Fair was 100% donated by generous individuals and organizations.

That means once an item is gone, it’s gone!

We’ll have nearly 5,000 books, literacy games, toys, community resources, a puppet show, and special character appearances but quantities of many items are limited.

If there’s something you’re hoping to find, we recommend arriving early for the best selection!

For many children, a traditional school book fair isn’t something they get to experience or they may walk through one knowing they can’t bring a book home.

That’s why the Summer of Stories Community Book Fair means so much to us.

Tomorrow, children will have the chance to browse thousands of books, discover stories they’ll love, and experience the excitement of choosing a book to take home for FREE.

We can’t wait to welcome our community and celebrate the power of reading together.
