STUCO presidential elections will take place on Monday, May 11th, during your English classes. You’ll have time to read about each candidate before casting your vote.
We will vote on all other officer positions on Tuesday, May 12.

Our Student Council President, Xajara Sanroman, just completed her second page program at the Oklahoma State Capitol!

Xajara spent the week serving as a page for Ellen Pogemiller, gaining firsthand experience on the House floor and in committee meetings. She also took part in a mock legislative session and saw firsthand how leaders make decisions at the state level.

We’re incredibly proud of the way Xajara continues to step up, take initiative, and represent ASTEC beyond our school walls. Opportunities like this don’t just happen—you earn them.

Prom is just around the corner, and it wouldn’t be the same without our amazing chaperones.

Prom will be held Saturday, May 2nd, from 7–11 PM at the Will Rogers Theatre. Tickets are $25 (card only) and are on sale now through Monday, April 27th, with Ms. Dormiani (before school, between classes, and during lunch—especially Lunch C). Please see Ms. Dormiani if you need to buy a ticket AFTER Monday, April 27th!

The following are not allowed on any spirit day: hoodies, jeans with tears or holes, open-toe shoes, leggings, sweatpants, pajama bottoms, or anything outside the school dress code. Jeans are only allowed on Thursday and Friday

ASTEC Scholars in Action at the Capitol 🏛️

ASTEC Student Council and AP Government spent the day at the Oklahoma Capitol for ACLU Advocacy Day.

We started with workshops on how to advocate for our communities, then heard from a student panel featuring ASTEC’s own Epifanio Aguirre. After that, we toured the Capitol and learned how lawmakers make decisions.

In the afternoon, we met with legislators to share our perspectives and discuss issues affecting our school and community.

It was a valuable experience getting to be in those spaces, have real conversations, and see how our voices can play a role.
