Leonardo's Children's Museum in Enid, visited the Okeene Public Library on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, to present a "WOW Science Show." These shows are designed to introduce kids to the most fun and fascinating sides of science through surprising, interactive demonstrations. Riley kicked things off by exploring the power of the air around us, igniting the "Whoosh Bottle" and collapsing a large water jug with fire and air pressure, inflating an 8-foot-long bag with a single breath using Bernoulli's Principle, and proving that air has real weight by covering a ruler with a sheet of newspaper and karate-chopping it in half. The show closed with two crowd favorites: a hair-raising demonstration of a 325,000-volt Van de Graaff generator, complete with flying pie plates launched by static electricity, and a bubbling chemical reaction known as "Elephant Toothpaste."
• Whoosh bottle & collapsing jug: A blast of fire ignites v***r inside a bottle, then a large water jug collapses using fire and air pressure
• One-breath balloon: An 8-foot-long bag inflated with a single breath, demonstrating Bernoulli's Principle
• Ruler snap: A ruler covered with a sheet of newspaper/ gets karate-chopped in half, showing just how much air pressure is pressing down on us

Creativity sparked as students designed their own lightsabers using smoothie straws, LED lights, and coin batteries. The program concluded with a fun engineering challenge inspired by the read-aloud of Where the Wild Things Are. Students combined art and science to build their own "wild thing" using conductive tape to make paper circuits, complete with a motorized spinning eyeball and working switch.

Library Day 📚 with Cherokee Strip Regional Heritage Center.

•We made homemade butter by the kids, shaking jars of heavy cream, and then enjoyed it on homemade bread and saltine crackers.

•We matched pictures of crops to pictures of products and talked about different crops that come from the Earth.

•The kids got to use an old-fashioned grinder to grind corn and talked about things that can be made with the cornmeal that had been ground.
