YMS Families, we need your help to make our Halloween Dance & Trunk or Treat a sweet success!

We are collecting individually wrapped candy in unopened bags for our event on Friday, October 30. Donations can be dropped off at the Yearling Middle School front office by Wednesday, October 28, 2026.

This event is a fundraiser supporting the YMS Athletic Department, and your generosity will help make it a fun afternoon for our students! Please contact Mr. Osteen with any questions.

On Thursdays, we wear PINK!

Throughout October, join us at YMS by wearing pink every Thursday to raise breast cancer awareness and show support for those affected. Together, we honor the fighters, celebrate the survivors, and remember those we have lost.

Happy Custodian Appreciation Day to our amazing Yearling Middle School custodial team!

Today, we celebrate our head custodian, Joaquin, and our nighttime custodians, Nelson, Jany, Cole, and Yunior! These five play such an important role in keeping our campus clean, safe, and ready for our students and staff each day.

Thank you for your hard work, your willingness to lend a hand, and the care you put into our school. So much of what you do happens behind the scenes, but your efforts make a difference every single day. We are so grateful to have you as part of our YMS family!

YMS is excited to announce our winners for Teacher of the Year, School Related Employee of the Year, and New Teacher of the Year!

New Teacher of the Year, Mary Smith! Mary is our 8th grade Geography teacher. She has shown tremendous growth in her planning and instruction. She provides students with fun, interactive, and exciting lessons throughout her Geography classes.

School Related Employee of the Year, Brian Marion! Brian is our IT Tech. Brian is responsible for fixing and maintaining all student Chromebooks, staff technology, and any tech related issues. Brian is definitely our go-to person and is always there when we need him!

Teacher of the Year, Carlyn Schaefer! Carlyn is one of our 8th Grade Science teachers. She provides students with engaging, interactive, and unique lessons each day. Ms. Schaefer is a sponsor of multiple events and activities for the 8th grade. She is always eager to learn and provide support to YMS wherever it is needed!

Congratulations to all three of these amazing individuals! YMS is so lucky and blessed to have each of you on our staff. We can’t wait to celebrate you all year long! 💜

Exploring the Electromagnetic Spectrum!

7th-grade scientists learned about the different types of electromagnetic waves, their properties, uses, and how wavelength, frequency, and energy are connected.
From hands-on activities and collaborative stations to challenging thinking questions, our students were busy observing, questioning, analyzing, and making connections!
So proud of their hard work and curiosity throughout this unit!

Our 8th Grade Geography students completed a Hispanic heritage culture project to appreciate Hispanic heritage month and they have been learning about culture last week and will continue this week.
