Dear Families,

If you have a current 9th grade student, NOW is the time to apply for the Take Stock In Children scholarship. Only 9th graders can apply. You cannot apply for it once your student leaves 9th grade. It is very important that you apply for it NOW. What is Take Stock? Well, if your child might want to attend college one day, he or she needs to apply. The scholarship pays for 4 years of college tuition. Two of those years will be completed locally at IRSC. Once your child is awarded the scholarship, he or she will be assigned a mentor until graduation. That mentor will offer additional support and encouragement. Please email [email protected] or call Judith Morales at 772-462-7252 for help in applying! You can apply online or on paper. If you have a 9th grader in Okeechobee who has a 2.0 GPA and wants to attend college (or is even thinking about it!), please apply. The deadline to apply is February 28, 2026. I have attached the flyer for more information.
