🌿 Science class looks a little different when the animal is right in front of you.

On September 2, LTL families are heading to Oatland Island Wildlife Center for an up-close wildlife experience!

An Oatland Island naturalist will lead our group through a 1-hour Animal Encounter featuring five animal ambassadors, including reptiles, mammals, and
amphibians.
Students can observe the animals, learn from a naturalist, and then spend the rest of the day exploring the wildlife center’s trails with their families.

🎨 FOR THE KIDS WHO ALWAYS WANT TO MAKE SOMETHING…

Maker Studio gives creative middle schoolers a place to turn their ideas into projects they can actually take home and use.

This isn’t an art class where everyone’s project has to look the same. Students get to experiment with different materials, techniques, colors, and styles while creating pieces that reflect their own personalities.

Each week brings something new:
🧵 Friendship bracelets & jewelry
✨ Custom keychains and accessories
👜 Tote bags
🖼️ Room décor
📓 Journals
🏺 Clay creations
🎨 And more hands-on projects throughout the year!

Along the way, students will learn new crafting and design skills while discovering that creativity doesn’t have to look the same for everyone. God has given each of us unique gifts—and Maker Studio is a place to use them.

This night isn’t only for little girls in twirly dresses.
It’s for the 5-year-old who thinks Dad is a superhero.
The 10-year-old who still reaches for his hand.
The 14-year-old who may pretend his dancing is embarrassing. 😂
And the 19-year-old who is beginning to understand just how quickly childhood went.

If your child is the one who can spend hours building with LEGO® bricks, LEGO Engineering turns that natural creativity into hands-on problem-solving.

Students won’t just follow directions to make something that looks cool—they’ll explore how things actually work as they design, build, test, and improve their creations.

Each week, students will practice:
🧱 Hands-on building & design
⚙️ Engineering concepts
💡 Creative problem solving
🔧 Testing and improving designs
🧠 Critical thinking
🤝 Collaboration

The best part? To them, it feels like building and experimenting. Along the way, they’re learning to think like engineers—asking questions, trying ideas, figuring out why something didn’t work, and finding a better solution.
