Dear Mesa Vista Families,
As many of you may know, I am Dr. Esmeralda Valdez, the new Interim Superintendent for Mesa Vista Consolidated School District. I am excited to be part of the Mesa Vista community and look forward to working together to provide a positive and welcoming learning environment for all of our students.
As you have noticed, there are several improvements taking place around our campus. We are giving our school facilities a fresh, updated look both inside and outside the buildings. As part of this ongoing improvement work, we will also be updating some of our water fixtures and filtration systems, along with making other improvements throughout the campus.
Many of these updates are part of routine facility maintenance and modernization. Some fixtures and equipment have been in use for more than eight years and are reaching the point where they should be refreshed or replaced. As we make these improvements, we are also following recommendations from the New Mexico Environment Department (NMED), including the use of certified lead-free fixtures and NSF-certified filtration systems where recommended.
These updates are a proactive part of maintaining and modernizing our facilities and ensuring that our schools continue to provide a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for our students and staff. We are taking the opportunity to make thoughtful improvements now so that our facilities continue to serve our Mesa Vista community well into the future.
