Among the many unique and meaningful educational and community moments at Thacher is Senior Exhibitions weekend, a dynamic display of our students’ learning and passions. With three days of thoughtful 30-minute presentations from each senior, the highlights are too many to include in full, but here are a handful that capture some of the fun, camaraderie, and pride that was shared.

It was an incredible honor to welcome decorated athlete, trailblazer, mentor, and advocate Blake Bolden to Thacher this week!

Bolden is an NHL and NCAA college hockey reporter and analyst, a regular contributor to ESPN’s The Point, and an analyst for NHL Network, Amazon Prime, NBC Sports, and Sportsnet. In 2020, Bolden joined the LA Kings as a Pro Scout and Growth & Inclusion Specialist, becoming only the second woman to scout in the NHL. She played college hockey at Boston College, serving as team captain her senior year, before continuing her career professionally in the Canadian Women’s Hockey League and National Women’s Hockey League. Off the ice, Bolden is dedication to mentorship and advocacy in sports. She founded the EmBolden Her Mentorship Initiative, providing opportunities for young female athletes in the US and Canada.

In addition to her all-school talk, Bolden spent time with varsity athletes and members of the black student union and female aligned student association. We loved hearing about her journey and the many lessons she has learned along the way. Thank you !

From blockbusters to butter pecan! A huge thank you to last night’s guest speakers Jon Berg and Will Gluck, who shared stories from their impressive careers in Hollywood, how they added Ojai Ice Cream ownership to their list of credits, and why Hollywood needs young minds to keep it on the cutting edge. Special thanks for the delicious post-talk treats! 🍦
