We 💚 Alumni visits!
Today Hannah Little (L19, U23) swung by the Lower Campus barn to hang with the Ojai Valley School Summer Camp equestrians. As a former Summer Camp counselor, Hannah was a big hit with our youngest riders, many of whom who remembered her fondly (and wanted LOTS of photos with her, too!).

Hannah had lunch with us and caught up with many teachers and staff working Summer Camp, including Spanish teacher Steve Risser, Outdoor Education Coordinator Zach Byars, and middle school science teacher Ben Malkin — with whom she recalled going on a camping trip way back in third grade.

Hannah is currently a senior at Northeastern University, working on a degree in media and screen studies and journalism. Not surprisingly, the former editor of On The Hill is still writing; you can find her byline in various publications, including the Ojai Valley News.

The festival is celebrating its milestone 80th anniversary this weekend with performances at Libbey Bowl and other venues in Ojai, including our own Greenberg Center featuring the LA Dance Project. Thank you to everyone who joined us for another fabulous Alumni Weekend at the OVS Upper Campus!
We had a blast catching up over great meals, beautiful walks, and old photos as we took in the incredible views from the top of the hill. Head of School Craig Floyd (U83) honored our four longtime faculty members who retired this year: Crystal Davis (40 years), Terry Wilson (40 years), Patty Campbell (21 years) and Andy Street (19 years). He emphasized how important alumni also are to the school’s continuity and celebrated all contributions to this year’s Alumni Challenge for the Annual Fund.

Former OVS history and French teacher Gary D**kins has donated a print of his most recent watercolor to this year’s OVS Gala and Auction!
It’s a vibrant painting of Bridal Veil Falls in Telluride, Colorado. It’s framed and ready for your bidding!
Gary’s artwork is featured and sold through Restoration Hardware, and his prints have been popular auction items for the past decade.

THANK YOU to the volunteers who launched our 2025-26 Annual Fund Ambassador program!
The time, energy, and support they’ve devoted have helped us raise nearly $250,000 so far.

Throughout the first semester, these Ambassadors led our outreach efforts to connect with families across the grade levels. We are deeply grateful to the families who have contributed. This strong start builds meaningful momentum as we expand our outreach into the spring for alumni, grandparents, foundations and friends of OVS.

The 2025-26 Annual Fund runs from September 1, 2025 through August 31, 2026. Contributions support priorities across both campuses. Every gift — of any size — makes a difference and is fully tax-deductible.

Sarah Silver (L11, U15) and Kendall Shiffman (L12, U16) stopped by the Lower and Upper Campuses earlier this week! They looked at old photos, reminisced about playing volleyball, and met up with their old teachers — the Gartrells, Mr. Wallace, Mr. Rowan, Mr. Street, Mr. Alvarez, Mr. Floyd and others.
