Doomsday Entertainment, a leading sponsor of this year’s Kentucky Derby-themed OVS Gala and Auction, is an industry leader in producing groundbreaking music and film projects that celebrate artistic freedom and advance social justice. 
In keeping with this ethos and our Gala theme, Doomsday’s founder and executive producer, Danielle Hinde, and her team prepared this educational series on the foundational role of Black horsemen in American thoroughbred racing. 
We honor the jockeys, trainers, and grooms whose contributions led to the popularity of the early Kentucky Derby races! Thank you, Doomsday, for supporting this event with the power of the arts — which will be the focus of this year’s paddle raise for OVS.

Spud Share is collecting formal wear via the cart outside the GAC in anticipation of a spring exchange during Family Weekend on Saturday, 3/21. Please bring your gently used items to recirculate within our community. ♻️

Introducing Sharon, our new Spud Share display cart! She is wearing upcycled outdoor clothes now, and come spring, she’ll change into formal wear!

This cart was envisioned by Pamela Starnes and designed in partnership with woodshop teacher, Mr. Lang.

Feel free to drop off additional donations in the bin by the cart, outside the GAC!

Next week, there will be a Spud Share collection drive at the Lower Campus to gather goods for the upcycle exchange on Saturday, the 25th. Starting on Monday, collection bins will be out near both entrances to the school. Gently used and OVS specific items are welcome. Spud Share supports sustainability by recirculating items within the OVS community.

Join Us Friday, March 14th: Spring Holi Celebration from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m! Families are encouraged to attend! There will be music and yummy food served near the Donlon Pool Complex and playground. (There will also be some messy playful splashing of colored powder, so pack a change of clothing!)
