What truly breaks them is the fear of financial paralysis—the worry that they’ll never get ahead again, can’t buy a house, take their kids on vacation, or retire.
The real issue is how the system rewards stagnation and penalizes forward movement, often locking men into temporary support arrangements that become permanent.
Men fear being forever tied to a system and to someone they no longer get along with, not the act of supporting their families.
