VTC Practical Nursing Program

VTC Practical Nursing Program Looking for a new career in nursing? VTC offers a one academic year certificate program. The nursing program is 11 months (1 academic year) in length.

The school-year begins in August and finishes in June of the following year. Approximately 50% of the time is spent in clinical practice and 50% in the classroom. Clinical experience is received at several local health care facilities. Clinical time also includes several rotations in our high fidelity simulation lab. Graduates are eligible to take the State Board of Nursing Licensing Examination for Practical Nurses. The school operates one campus in Oil City and one campus in Warren, PA.

The Venango Technology Center Practical Nursing Program graduated 13 students Thursday evening during a ceremony at the Oil Region Venango Campus in Rhoades Hall gymnasium.

These graduates completed an intensive 11-month curriculum and are now eligible to take the state examination to become licensed practical nurses. Local healthcare providers continue to face a nursing shortage, and program officials note that these new LPN candidates typically stay to serve the local community.
