Weber State String Project

09/11/2026

It's almost time. The WSU String Project is getting revved up for fall 2026. The Project, under the guidance of its new Project Director Kathy Edgel, promises an excellent education in stringed instruments, including guitar, for all students in 3rd grade and up.

Here's the poster giving you all the information you need to get your children registered and ready to go.

September may not be on everyone's mind, but for the WSU String Project the work has already begun. Last week the teachers were reorganizing the music and music filing system, thanks to a gift of another file cabinet from the Browning Center.

Our tuition costs will be the same as last year, so it's still $200 for the entire year. This works out to a bit over $5.00 per 45 minute class. As always there will be 3 levels of classes as well as guitar. Each semester culminates in a concert on the Browning Center's Allred Theater stage.

We are again offering private lessons for all children who are enrolled in classes. $125 for ten private lessons is a real bargain.

Here's the poster for the school year. Come join us for a fun and exciting year of String Project.

Stay tuned to find out about the 2026-2027 String Project season. It's gonna be great!

Once again my viola class at Weber State will be hosting the annual Viva Viola Day, a 1/2 day viola immersion for violists in junior high and high school. My students run this, offering various classes on topics related to the viola, and I do a master class.
There is no cost for participating and we serve a pizza lunch at the end. It runs from 9:00-1:00 on Saturday April 18 in the Browning Center at WSU.
Attached is an information and registration brochure. If you happen to be a parent, a teacher or a violist (or any combination) please pass this on.
Thanks,

There is still time to register your child/children for the WSU String Project. We are opening a new beginning class this semester in addition to the continuing classes, and are accepting students in all of them. We also have a great guitar class for those who aren't into the orchestral instruments. Our teachers are ready and all we need is your children to join us.

Our classes begin on September 29 and run through the first week of December, and then start up again in January.
