Nurture the Creative Mind

NEXT PHASE:
Proud and Honored to announce that I have been selected to be a Coach for the National Arts Futures Fellows.
It's almost as if Nurture the Creative Mind never left me, just evolved or grew up a bit. Now I have the opportunity to mentor, support, encourage, and learn from, professionals in the field, doing the work.
Excited, is an understatement.

DON'T CALL IT A COME BACK!!!: Ogden Arts Festival 2025-
I could not be more excited to announce the Ogden Arts Festival's return in 2025, now under the management of the Ogden Downtown Alliance.
After month's of discussions, I have the utmost confidence in, and respect for, this group's abilities, character and vision. I eagerly anticipate experiencing what they create.
Looking back, I am immensely proud of the impact that Nurture the Creative Mind and the Ogden Arts Festival's committee's has had within the community. With the addition of the urban arts area, tattooing, skateboarding, interactive murals, live theater and poetry etc. Our intentional efforts to expand the umbrella of how "Art' is viewed, accepted and engaged, no doubt had a ripple effect. Benefiting not only artists, but also businesses, and the community as a whole. Together we accomplished something beautiful.
To the Ogden Arts Festival Committee, those who participated, and those attended over the years, I say thank you.
I would like to express a special thank you to Danielle Bendinelli, the Ogden Arts Festival Director, for her leadership and stewardship.
Congratulations to Ogden Downtown Alliance, and the community, who ultimately is the biggest winner from this transition.
Heres to continuing to build an even more vibrant Ogden.

MORE THAN A PHOTO STUDIO: Union Studio
Earlier this year I made the decision to transition away from Nurture the Creative Mind, something I poured myself into for nearly 18 years of my life and by all accounts considered to be my life's purpose. This was not an easy decision or process and true to form, I began using mediums of creativity to manage and filter my thoughts and feelings. I built a sauna (I love it), I trained for and ran a Spartan (The worst, best time I've had), started reading and meditating daily, and much more. One of the mediums I landed on was photography. I really enjoyed the journey of giving myself what I have been giving to so many others over the years. I think I will continue doing it. 🙂
While on the path of self exploration, I randomly ran into a business acquaintance and friend, Stacie Lynn Larsen (Formerly of the 5th floor) on the trail. Stacie encouraged me to repurpose the space into a photography studio that I could rent out. She even said she would help by investing some money so that I could, and share her knowledge, all this for trade of use of the space. I was blown away by her kind and generous offer, so much so that I demanded to pay her a $1,500 consultation fee for time, knowledge and support. (All worth much more than that)
It didn't stop there, Ashlee Bostwick of Ash & Co., another person I worked with in the past, offered to build the website and share her thoughts/ideas.
This is the power of community. People coming together to support one another. All in the spirit of goodness and elevating one another. I most likely would have been content with what I was doing, so I must say thank you to these two great, intelligent, talented, and good hearted women and their willingness support me on this journey. I am truly and sincerely grateful for you both.I could not have done it without you.
We have all done our part to bring create this space.
This is why although it is technically my studio, it is our vision.
Individually all is possible. Together all can be realized.
By the way I grew to realize Nurture the Creative Mind was never fully my life's purpose. Rather, it was a part of it. Union Studio is not my last stop. Rather another page in the journal.
Here's to all that is next, All that will be learned from it, and the growth that follows.

DID YOU KNOW?: Ogden City Youth Council-
Did you know that the Ogden City Youth Council was a proposal that initiated out of a Nurture the Creative Mind workshop. We mentored students, and advised them on their proposal design proposal. After they presented to the Ogden City Council.
The Ogden City Youth Council is looking for new motivated young people. They will receive real world experience in policy, leadership and government.
