How do we build strong math thinkers at Leadership Learning Academy?

It starts by helping students do more than find the correct answer. At LLA, students work through meaningful math problems, explain their thinking, ask questions, listen to others, and make connections that help them understand math more deeply.

Teachers play an important role by guiding discussion, asking thoughtful questions, and helping students grasp the key ideas in each lesson. This creates a learning environment with both high expectations and the support students need to grow.

Just as important, this process helps students build leadership skills. As they communicate their ideas, persevere through challenges, and take ownership of their learning, they grow in confidence, independence, and responsibility.
