Students that study business economics often have several traits in common. Many are natural leaders, unafraid to take risks, have a competitive spirit, ability to take initiative and have solid communication skills. Economic majors also look at tabulating and manipulating data/data analysis, research and analysis, finding and testing relationships, applying statistical methods and testing hypothesis, and more.

And … we’re back with our faculty spotlights. This week, we are highlighting the faculty in the Department of Economics who continue to push through tough circumstances to deliver quality classes to our students. According to them, it was in these times that connections with colleagues grew stronger as they navigated the online/virtual classes from their basements. “Sharing in those tough times galvanized us as a department,” one department member said. We caught up with the department just before a faculty meeting for a fun photo in the sun. The department includes Nazneen Ahmad, Doris Geide-Stevenson, Matt Gnagey, Therese Grijalva, Andrew Keinsley, Brandon Koford, Álvaro La Parra-Pérez, John Mbaku, Sandeep Rangaraju, Gavin Roberts and Jeff Steagall.
