π Happy 1-Year Anniversary, Miss Maria! π
This week we are celebrating Maria and her first year with Northstar Preschools!
For the past year, she has been a constant source of care, comfort, and dedication in our infant classroom. She always keeps the best interests of our babies at heart, ensuring they are safe, loved, and well cared for each and every day. Her commitment to keeping parents informed and reassured provides families with the confidence and peace of mind that their little ones are in great hands.
Miss Maria's consistency, nurturing nature, and calming presence create a warm and welcoming environment where our youngest learners can thrive. She brings patience, compassion, and reliability to everything she does, making a lasting impact on the children, families, and team members around her.
Thank you, for an amazing first year with Northstar Preschools. We are so grateful for all that you do and look forward to many more years of watching you make a difference in the lives of our children and families. β€οΈπΆβ¨

What started as βjust paintingβ quickly turned into tiny artists, rainbow mist, and at least 47 very serious opinions about whose color was βwinning.βπ€£π¨
Beyond all the fun, activities like this are incredibly developmentally appropriate for preschoolers! Using spray bottles helps strengthen little hand and finger muscles needed for writing, cutting, buttoning, and other fine motor skills. It also encourages hand-eye coordination, creativity, color exploration, sensory play, and cause-and-effect learning.
Most importantly? They were learning through PLAY β the very best way for young children to grow. πβ¨

πππBuzz buzz! It's World Bee Day! πππ
Native bees are the super-pollinators of the garden! While honey bees have their place, itβs actually solitary bees, such as mason bees and leafcutter bees, that are critical to growing food and flowers.
The world is home to more than 20,000 species of bees, so let's celebrate them all! πππ Learn more about these amazing heroes of pollination! Almanac.com/native-bees-best-pollinators-your-garden

Pegboards may look like simple play, but for toddlers and 2-year-olds they are building so many important skills! As children grasp, pinch, sort, and place pegs into holes, they strengthen fine motor muscles needed for writing, self-feeding, buttoning, and everyday independence.
Peg play also encourages hand-eye coordination, focus, problem-solving, color recognition, patience, and early math concepts through sorting and patterns. Most importantly, it allows little learners to explore, create, and build confidence through play π
In early childhood, play truly is learning!
