UEA-PAC Educator Day of Action — Saturday, October 10

Join UEA-PAC members on Saturday, October 10, at 10:00 AM for an Educator Day of Action supporting UEA-PAC recommended candidates.

Choose one of two locations:

📍OGDEN
Grandview Park

Recommended candidates:

• Rosemary Lesser — Utah House District 10
• Angela Choberka — Utah House District 9

Recommended candidate:

• Bianca Mittendorf — Utah House District 7

Participants can canvass, write postcards, or help in other ways. Campaigns will provide training, and first-time canvassers can be paired with experienced volunteers.

Please note the following important details:
The application period opens today and will close on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at 11:59 pm.
This application form will be used to apply for all UEA leadership programs (with the exception of the Early Leadership Institute) that are offered.
To ensure participants can fully engage in and benefit from the program experience, applicants may only apply for one leadership program.
Applications received after the closing date will not be considered.

The NEA Foundation is now accepting applications for three categories of educator grants:

Learning & Leadership grants are available to individual educators or groups of educators pursuing high-quality professional learning experiences to enhance their classroom teaching, leadership skills, or professional partnerships.

Student Success grants are available to public school educators, specialized instructional support personnel, and education support professionals who are interested in enhancing students’ learning experiences.

Envision Equity grants support project-based learning and help educators to advance students’ cultural understanding and appreciation, anti-racism commitments, and understanding of civic engagement and democracy.
Grant applications are open until September 15. Applicants must register in Fluxx by September 10.

Last year, Princess Moss came to Utah, stood alongside educators and public workers, and personally gathered signatures to protect our collective bargaining rights.

Together, Utah workers submitted more than 320,000 signatures in a record-breaking referendum effort that helped repeal HB 267.

Today, Princess Moss begins her term as president of the National Education Association. Members across the US, including the Utah member delegation, voted her into office last summer.

For UEA, her leadership already feels personal. We have seen her show up, listen and stand with working people when it matters.

We’re proud to see NEA President Princess Moss bring that same commitment to educators across the country as we keep building stronger public schools and a stronger voice for the people who make them work. 🍎
