Our featured teacher is the amazing Mrs. Reed, one of our incredible Kindergarten teachers! You might remember her as Miss Miles—she just got married this past summer! 💍🎉

When she isn’t in the classroom, Mrs. Reed loves spending time with her husband and her cute dog, traveling, participating in colorguard, relaxing at the beach, and enjoying potatoes in every single form. 🍟 🐶✈️

🍎 Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Program is Back! 🥦

We are thrilled to announce that the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP) is returning for another school year!

Through this federally assisted program, participating students receive a free, healthy fresh fruit or vegetable snack twice a week right in their classrooms.

✨ Monday Moments! ✨

Big congratulations to Miss Rodriguez’s 5th-grade class for winning our very first Attendance Award of the school year! 🏆 They hit 100% attendance on the first day of school, earning the honor of choosing this week’s Friday Attendance Spirit Day theme.

To make the most of these sunny days, they chose Hats & Sunglasses Day! 🕶️🧢 It’s a fun reminder that our future is bright when we show up ready to learn.

As a reminder, our goal every week is 90% attendance for every student, every classroom, and our entire school. Let’s make it a great week! 🌟

Hello Odyssey Families!

Welcome back to a brand-new school year! It was incredible seeing all of your child’s smiling faces on our first day on Friday—it truly set a wonderful tone for the year ahead.

Building consistent attendance habits right away sets your student up for long-term success. You can support them at home by establishing steady bedtime and morning routines to ensure they arrive on time and ready to thrive.

Expectations & Connections: We are spending significant time this week establishing classroom and schoolwide expectations while building positive relationships. Missing these first days makes it harder for students to feel fully connected and confident.

Our 90% Goal: Every student, classroom, grade level, and our entire school is striving to maintain a 90% or higher attendance rate all year long. Every day counts toward our target!

First 20-Day Challenge: Any student with perfect attendance for the first 20 days (starting Monday, August 24th) will earn an awesome attendance sticker from Miss Emily!

Friday Spirit Day: This Friday is our very first Attendance Spirit Day—a schoolwide reward earned by the class with the highest attendance from our first week! Which class took the top spot? Be here tomorrow to find out!

We loved seeing SO many happy faces last night at our Back to School celebration! 💙✨ There was so much excitement and joy in the building as we welcomed our Odyssey Explorers community back through our doors. Seeing our students, families, and staff together again reminded us just how special our school community is!

We are officially ready to kick off a brand-new school year filled with learning, connection, adventure, and—of course—LOTS of JOY! We can’t wait to see what this year has in store for our Odyssey Explorers!

Tomorrow is the big day! We can’t wait to see all of our Odyssey Explorers back for another amazing year! School starts at 8:05am and will dismiss at 12:05pm!

Our Odyssey faculty was on top of the world today as we kicked off the new school year at the Ogden School District Opening Institute! 🚌💙

We loved connecting with colleagues and friends from across the district, learning from amazing and inspiring speakers, and getting energized for another incredible year of learning.

Now, we just need our students! 💙 We can’t wait to see you all at Back to School Night tomorrow, Wednesday, August 19th, from 4:30-6:30pm. Let’s get this great year started! 🎉📚
