Mt Baldy in Alta, UT with my girls Bekky and Natasha!

This was a steep one 🤣 but I love that you can climb to the top of the peaks in this area and then take the tram down which we did! 🙌🏻

Mt baldy is around 4 miles to the top from the Peruvian gulch trail with 3k elevation gain so yes a butt kicker but the views are gorgeous! You get amazing views of the snowbird area, ski lifts, wildlife, wildflowers, and mtn top views.

Even though this is a tough hike, the bonus is A. you can grab a bite to eat at the top of hidden peak (next to mt baldy) and or B. you can take the tram down after you reach the peak! (Or both!)

It’s a great trail and I love it so much! Next time I think we’re going to shoot for twin peaks which will be a bit of a spicy one. Have fun doing these peaks and enjoy the reward at the top! Xoxo Kimmy

My hubby and I went back to one of my favorite trails in Utah, White Pine Lake (Logan canyon).

This is an annual hike we do and it never ceases to amaze me. It’s one of my fav trails and one that made me want to move out west. (I know there’s a lot of great ones here but this one will always be special to me)

It’s 7.6 miles out and back with just over 1300 ft of elevation gain. I would rate it moderate but so worth it! The trail has incredible views of rich forest, running streams, mtn top views, wildlife, wildflowers, and of course the fabulous lake. This trail is also great for mtn biking, it’s dog friendly, and a lot of people backpack here too. Really something for all!

If you’re never been up Logan canyon, then make this your first hike to do! It’s located in the Tony Grove area and there is a fee to pay or you can use your America the beautiful pass. Bring a picnic, bring your boards, seriously so many fun activities to do in this area. Xoxo Kimmy

Conquered Mt. Wolverine and Mt. Tuscarora up in Alta, UT with my girl Natasha!💪🏻

I have always wanted to come up to these peaks but just haven’t had the time yet till now. We started at Catherine’s pass trailhead and made our way up. We passed lots of wildlife, wildflowers, and stunning views of the Alta area. Eventually you hit Catherine’s pass and head straight up to the left. The climb is a bit steep and there are some boulders you have to cross over but once you hit the ridge it’s all fun from there on out!

You get killer views of both big and little cottonwood. I can’t wait to come back and actually do the whole ridge next time since it’s amazing. We hit up both peaks and then headed back. This route is 4 miles out and back with 1500 ft of elevation gain. You could definitely make this ridge into a loop if you really wanted to.

If you haven’t done these peaks in Alta, I would highly recommend it. There’s lots of different routes you could take to get to these two so pick which one suits you best and have fun! Xoxo Kimmy

Maybird lakes up in Alta, UT with my gals! This trail starts at the same trailhead as white pine and red pine lake and yes the parking lot fills up quick even on a weekday. You do also need your America the beautiful pass or pay a fee to park here.

This trail starts on the same path as red pine lake but then diverts over to the right after crossing a stream. It continues to wind up and over until you reach the 2 maybird lakes. The trail is quiet and serene and we actually didn’t see anyone else on it which was so great. This trail is less trafficked than the others here but I think it’s worth going to because these lakes are gorgeous! There is some bigger boulders you have to traverse on to get closer to the lakes but that makes this trail more fun. When we got to the lakes we saw pikas and birds. On our way back, we made a quick stop over to Gloria falls before getting back to our cars.

This trail ended up being 8.7 miles with 2300 ft of elevation gain so I’d rate it moderate. Def a fun one to try out if you haven’t from this trailhead. You will find a lot of peace and quiet which makes it’s so nice! Xoxo Kimmy

I love when your friends just say yes to any of your crazy hike ideas 🤣

As yall know this past month has been filled with a lot of backpacking adventures so I feel like since I’ve been back I’m still trying to recoup but honestly it’s hard to do that when you have friends who want to keep on hiking new trails. And yes my fomo kicks in again and I have to say yes! Yet this time around I will say I suggested Mount Raymond to my friend Heidi and luckily she was game! 💪🏻

We headed up early to beat the heat and I’m so glad we did because on the way down it got really warm. Mount Raymond is in BCC. It’s almost 8 miles out and back with just over 3k elevation gain so I’d rate it hard based on how steep it is. There is some scrambling that you need to do too but actually I didn’t think it was too bad. We both ended up really enjoying the scrambling section and were super proud of ourselves for making it through. Once you reach the top you have fabulous views of BCC, down into the valley, and even millcreek canyon. You could really see for miles up there!

We really loved this peak and I would 100 percent do it again. It was a really fun trail and I’m so glad we were able to accomplish it together. That’s another check box marked off for another peak in Utah. Xoxo Kimmy

Headed back to north fork park with my boys!🐶

We absolutely love coming here to hike and snowshoe in the winter. It’s our go to spot and it’s always quiet, serene, not busy, and full of trails to explore. This day we did the bicentennial and traildemic loop on the north side of the park. This trail has lots of river and streams that the dogs can go in, drink, and cool off in. This loop ends up being 5.25 miles with only 741 ft of elevation gain so I would rate it easy.

It has great forest and mtn views, rivers and streams, lots of wildlife activity, and wildflowers. We saw 3 moose and a rattlesnake on this day! The snake def caught me off guard but the momma moose and her 2 babies were such a delight!

If you’re looking for a great hiking and mtn biking park then head on over to north fork park in liberty, Utah! Such a fun place to explore and bring your doggos to! Xoxo Kimmy

Yes, another backpacking trip but this time it was a last min decision to join. As you know I did Mt Whitney 2 weeks back but when my friends told me about this trip they were doing, I just couldn’t say no. The fomo in me had to say yes and luckily my husband was cool with it too!

Myself and 5 other ladies did the Cirque of the Towers trail in the wind river range in Wyoming over 4 days. I’ve got to say, this is probably at the top of my list for best backpacking experience thus far! I still feel newer to backpacking but after this trip I really felt like a pro haha. (Bonus I did it without my husband so I was really proud of myself!)

I will write up a full blog on my site as well as our Whitney trip but overall let’s just say you have to do this trail!!! You will be blown away and I feel so lucky I got to experience this. Immediately when I got home, I told my husband we have to go back🤣

The moments and experiences I gained with these 5 ladies will be remembered forever and I’m so glad they invited me and trusted me to be apart of their group. It’s times like these that I will never take for granted. Thank you ladies and thank you to my husband who allowed me to take this opportunity for myself!😘 xoxo Kimmy

Last hike before Mt. Whitney! My girl Jen and I did the Alta-Brighton lake loop trail. This is an 8.9 mile loop trail with 2400 ft of elevation gain. So it’s definitely a more moderate/hard trail.

You start in little cottonwood and then cross over to the Brighton/solitude side before returning again to Alta. It’s a great loop trail with a good amt of elevation gain and good altitude training too.

This was our last prep training trail before Whitney and it was a great one. The views were stunning, wildflowers were popping, lots of wildlife to see, and of course all the lakes were jaw dropping. Such a fun trail between the 2 canyons.

If you’re looking for a longer loop trail that checks off all the box’s then add this one to your summer list. Xoxo Kimmy

July 3rd, 2026:

Summited Mt Timpanogos with the hubby for the first time🙌🏻

Got to the Timpanooke trailhead at 6 am and the parking lot was full so we had to park 1 mile away which wasn’t on the agenda but it is what it is.

Once we got onto the trail, I could tell this trail was going to be different than the other hikes I’ve done in Utah. After a half mile we saw a herd of elk, next couple miles we went through thick forest vegetation and crossed multiple waterfalls, then we looked down into a meadow and bam 5 moose, then up a shelf blooming wildflowers, up another shelf mtn goats and pikas, up another shelf and wam the Timp meadows, more mtn goats and lots of wildflowers!

The layers of this trail was unbelievable and it felt like a fairy tale. Every new step brought new views and new life. We were truly blown away the whole time and honestly we felt like we were in a national park or hidden oasis in Utah.

After the meadows you can see the saddle for mt timp and up we climbed. Once we reached the saddle then there’s about a mile left to the top that does get a bit harder and I had to scramble a little bit at times to make it to the shack. There is some loose rocks in this section so watch your step. Once we got to the top we took some photos and had some lunch. The top was really crowded so we only stayed for about 15 min before descending back down. Nick and I were really happy and proud to knock this trail off our list before doing mt Whitney. It was a beautiful trail and a great training trail too.

This trail ended up being 17 miles out and back with 4700 ft of elevation gain. Truly an amazing journey and a very long day but so worth every step! Xoxo Kimmy
