🎓 Career, College & Financial Aid Planning Night at OHS!
Sophomores, Juniors, Seniors & Parents — Join Us!

Planning for life after high school can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to figure it out alone. The Oelwein High School Counseling Office has invited Iowa College Access Network (ICAN®) to provide two FREE presentations to help families plan for the future.

🕔 5:00 PM – Career & College Planning (Sophomores, Juniors & Parents)
Learn about:
• Career exploration and assessments
• Academic preparation and admissions requirements
• Choosing colleges & planning campus visits
• The college application process
• Understanding college costs and scholarships
• Preparing for a successful transition after high school

🕕 6:00 PM – How to Pay for College (Juniors, Seniors & Parents)
Topics include:
• How to complete the FAFSA and what happens next
• Understanding financial aid offers and college costs
• Scholarships, grants, loans, and other aid options
• Comparing college costs and making informed decisions
• Where to find help and additional resources

This is a great opportunity to ask questions and learn how to plan for the future with confidence.

We are wrapping up registration for next year’s classes. If you would like to request any changes to your student’s course selections, please contact us as soon as possible.

You can review your child’s course choices in **Xello**, our online career and college planning program. If you have not set up a family account yet, please check your email for a recent invitation.

Parents/Guardians of Husky Students in Grades 8–11:
It’s time for your student to register for next year’s classes! The High School Counseling Office will host Registration Kickoff on Tuesday, February 10. During this event, students will learn about graduation requirements, course options, and explore pathways aligned with their future goals through the Elective Fair. Students will also have the opportunity to schedule individual appointments with their assigned counselor to review course selections and ask questions. Xello Submissions and Registration Forms due in the Main Office by Friday, Feb 27th.
