It was an excellent week to be an Admiral! 💪🏼

From Monday night our 8th grade football team took Bowie by storm winning by forfeit in the 4th qtr 50-0! 🏈

Tuesday our Cross Country teams representing Nimitz well! 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

Thursday our girls volleyball teams with a full sweep! 🏐🧹

Our Nimitz boys got to spend Friday night under the lights with them MOJO boys! 🏈

Annndd finishing our week off strong with our 7th grade boys with a win against Wilson & Young 46-7!

We love showing our students the love! If your booster club has an weekly shout outs, message our page and we'd love to post them!

Good morning Nimitz Admiral Fam! 💙⚓️💛

You're going to want to make sure you have your notifications turned ON, we have lots of exciting announcements for yall coming in! 📢

First and foremost, thank you to everyone who came to open house! We love seeing all the support for our students and staff! 👏🏼

If you were not able to attend here is a quick recap of the meeting(s).

Title 1. If you're not familiar with what title 1 funding is, its government funding allocated specifically for education. Nimitz receives title 1 funding and because of that our staff if able to engage with your students in different ways and theyre able to host some awesome family nights for our Admiral Fam! Make sure you stay connected through the parent focus portal for the announcement of those dates and departments hosting those! 🗓

PTO. Our PTO president did a quick introduction and brief overview of our goal as PTO for our Admirals.

Our primary goal with starting a PTO is to support our staff because I have seen first hand that when your teaching staff feels supported and appreciated they will better support our students. We also want to build community within our school so we partner with our boosters because they do so much to make these students have an incredible year.

In order to support our staff, partner with boosters and make school fun for our students we host several events throughout the year. This year will be our first every fall festival and all Admiral students and their families are invited to attend that, we will have more info coming in about that on our page, so be sure to follow us there. We also host candy grams for Christmas, we will do some sort of teacher appreciation during that time as well. We also host PS ILY for Valentines Day which was a hit amongst the students last year. We then finish off the year with our annual color run, help coach out with activities for field day, and teacher appreciation.
