Moments from the First Day of School! 🎒 WELCOME BACK! We hope all of our students, staff, and families have an amazing first day and a great 2026–27 school year!

We kicked off the 2026-2027 school year in a great way! 🎉🍎✏️

Friday, the entire ECISD came together for Convocation 2026 to celebrate the start of a new year. Staff enjoyed fun activities, friendly competition, and an inspiring keynote from former U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter pilot and leadership speaker Elizabeth McCormick.

The excitement and energy in the room reminded us why we do what we do. We’re ready to welcome our students, support one another, and make this school year one to remember.

There’s less than 2 days left until the first day of school. Here’s to a great year ahead! 💙

Another milestone for the future of career education in ECISD!

Today, ECISD Board members and district leaders signed the final steel beam for the new ATLAS Career & Technical Education Center before it was lifted into place.

The state-of-the-art facility is on track to open for the 2027–2028 school year and will serve 400 full-time students and nearly 2,000 students taking Career & Technical Education courses in high-demand career fields.

This project is made possible through the 2023 ECISD Bond, a generous $10 million investment from the Permian Strategic Partnership , and a land donation from GROW Odessa. Together, these partnerships are helping create more opportunities for students and strengthen the future workforce of the Permian Basin.

For another year, school breakfast and lunch is free!

Odessa welcomes you, New Teachers!
Today, we celebrated our newest ECISD teachers at the New Teacher Welcome hosted by the Odessa Chamber of Commerce!

Thank you to the Odessa Chamber of Commerce, our community partners, and everyone who helped make today’s event possible. Your support gave our newest educators a warm welcome as they begin the school year.

It's been a great start to the day as we welcomed more than 100 new teachers to the ECISD family during New Teacher University!

Throughout the day, our newest educators learned about the resources, programs, and support available to help them succeed in the classroom. They also had the opportunity to connect with district leaders, meet fellow teachers, and begin building relationships that will last throughout the school year.

We're excited to have these outstanding educators join Team ECISD and can't wait to see the difference they'll make in the lives of our students. Welcome to the family!
