Nerd Academy

In 2024, we opened our doors with a big mission and a small space.

Since then, this little school has grown faster than we ever expected.

Because of the families who believed in us, the students who showed up ready to learn, and the support from our community, Nerd Academy has officially outgrown our current home.

In June, we’ll be moving into a new space we can call our own.

We’ll share more details soon.

For now, we just want to say thank you.

Exciting things are coming.

Some lessons don’t come from a screen.

They come from paper, paste, patience, and a child trying to make sense of the world with her own two hands.

At Nerd Academy, we believe real learning should have texture. Students need strong reading and math foundations, but they also need chances to build, touch, test, question, and create.

Because learning sticks better when it sticks to their fingers.

Kindergarten used to be a place where children learned how to be students.

Now, many are expected to read, write, retell, count higher, perform sooner, and meet benchmarks before they’ve even had time to settle into school.

But children don’t bloom faster because someone changed the deadline.

At Nerd Academy, we take early foundations seriously: reading, writing, number sense, focus, confidence, and curiosity. We meet students where they are, then give them what they need to grow.

We believe kids should learn how to think before they’re handed another device.

That starts with pencils, paper, reading, writing, focus, and real foundational skills.

Nerd Academy is literacy-first for a reason: strong readers become stronger learners everywhere else.

At Nerd Academy, hands-on learning isn’t a reward after the “real work” is done. Sometimes, it IS the work.

As we start wrapping up an incredible year at Nerd Academy, we just want to say thank you.

Thank you to every parent who trusted us with your children.

Thank you to our students for showing up, trying hard, growing, and pushing through even when things got tough.

Thank you to the people who poured into this school behind the scenes, especially Victoria Peña for her support, and Miss G for the tutoring sessions that made a huge difference for our students.

And of course, thank you to our amazing teachers, Ms. Raquel, Ms. Nat, and Ms. Bee. The love, patience, structure, and energy you bring into the classroom every day matters more than words can explain.

We’re also incredibly thankful for our sponsors and supporters who believed in what we were building before it was fully built.

The school year isn’t over just yet, but seeing how much this little school has grown already has us excited for what’s ahead.
