My dirt babies… I wish for nothing more than they realize how much I love them and how proud I’m, how satisfying it is as an art teacher to know that your students learn a trade that they can use for life. They excelled in ceramics in ways I didn’t expect. Angel, if you need something done right… my student I can count on. Ivana, who would have been my bff in high school. Xaxa, I never thought it was possible for a human to never speak ill or only open her mouth when is absolutely necessary. Miley, my sidekick, my favorite, the one I can count on, the one I will fight for, don’t ever anybody mess with my Miley. Jayden, the perfect boy, seriously, he’s the perfect human, the most loyal, quiet, smart, polite, patient boy I have ever met. And Adrian, how I wish I can explain how rare it is for someone to get ceramics and the whole science behind it in such a short amount of time. Thank you for making this 4 years amazing, remember I’ll always be your safe space. Sorry for being pushy, sorry for wearing yall out so much, sorry for never been ok with “is this good?” “Should I…?” “What you think?”… Yall made history for our school and my life as my first group of seniors in ceramics class.

Ector County ISD ECISD Fine Arts students from George H.W. Bush New Tech Odessa - ECISD, Odessa High School - ECISD, OCTECHS, Bowie and Nimitz visited the Dallas Museum of Art They saw art from around the world and masterpieces by Po***ck, Degas, Van Gogh, Cézanne, Basquiat, Monet, Leonora Carrington, Miró—even a Dalí. 🎨

Why it matters: exposure builds visual literacy, empathy, creativity, and connects learning across subjects. Big thanks to our chaperoning teachers and the Fine Arts Dept for making this happen!

I had the great opportunity to take a group of my kiddos to the “Bebop to Hiphop” concert today, they had the chance to hear musicians that are Grammy winners, have performed with Pink, Bruno Mars, Tailor Swift, Toni Braxton! Sabrina Carpenter and many many more! They enjoyed themselves so much I enjoyed myself watching them! There were notes on music history on every song we all learned so much! Thank you ECISD Fine Arts for facilities this for us! Seriously we all love it!

33,000 registered entries were submitted across 28 Regional High School VASE events. 2,363 entries advanced to the State VASE event.
At the State VASE event, 1,360 artworks received a Rating 4 (All-State Superior Rating). This is the highest rating. Ali scored a 4! 😎 11 4s from our district.
