Lake Country Classical Academy LCCA is a Hillsdale College Candidate Member School. We are a public/tuition-free, charter school serving K-12.

Lake Country Classical Academy (LCCA) is a Hillsdale College Candidate Member School. Our mission is to train the minds and improve the hearts of young people through a content-rich, classical education in the liberal arts and sciences, with instruction in the principles of moral character and civic virtue. LCCA addresses the real need for tuition-free, high-quality, teacher-led education, K-12. There is a desire among many families in Lake Country for a teacher-led, classical education experience. We believe that all students should have access to this option, regardless of their zip code, socioeconomic status, primary language, or race. Classical Education upholds a standard of excellence and has proven itself over the course of time.

For the classical student, self-respect means having the courage to ask good questions, the humility to recognize what we don't yet know, and the perseverance, to keep seeking understanding when the answer doesn't come easily.

When curiosity sparks a thoughtful question, the classical student has the opportunity to persevere - to listen, think deeply, wrestle with ideas, and keep going. That's how knowledge grows us in wisdom, and how character is formed along the way.

Today, the Western Lakes Fire Department paid a special visit to our East Campus. Kindergarten and second-grade students had the exciting opportunity to learn all about fire safety, get an up-close look at a real fire truck, and even walk through an ambulance.

The firefighters shared important safety tips, answered the students’ many questions, and gave them a hands-on experience that brought classroom lessons to life. Moments like these help our youngest learners understand the vital role first responders play in our community.

We are deeply grateful to the Western Lakes Fire Department and all of our local first responders who serve selflessly every day to keep our families and schools safe. Thank you for taking the time to visit and for everything you do!

This week, first graders got a hands-on look at beekeeping when our Head of Lower School and resident beekeeper, Miss Joy, introduced them to the tools and equipment needed to care for a hive.

This real-world experience connects beautifully to their classical science studies, giving students the opportunity to observe, ask questions, and deepen their understanding of the natural world. From the classroom to the beehive, there’s always more to discover!

CALLING ALL SENTINEL FANS! Our middle school volleyball teams need your support TOMORROW NIGHT!!

On Thursday, LCCA parent, Mr. Gajewski, came to visit our third grade students. He shared his background in meteorology, shared some great stories, and demonstrated fun weather experiments.

Visits like this are an important part of maintaining a close relationship with Hillsdale and the continued support they provide to LCCA’s leaders and our classical mission.

At LCCA, parents and teachers share a united goal: forming the classical student. Together, we seek to cultivate students who are grounded in knowledge, capable of careful reasoning, and growing in virtue - developing not only the mind, but the whole person.

Parent teacher conferences are an important part of that partnership. They give families and teachers an opportunity to share what they're seeing, celebrate growth, identify areas for continued development, and work together toward the same goal: educating students in the classical model and helping them become the kind of people they are meant to be.

Conferences are this Thursday, September 24th and Friday, September 25th. Be sure to sign up in Skyward for your conference time and join us in this important work of educating the classical student.

Yesterday, our Seniors visited the East Campus for the kickoff of our yearlong celebration.

Opportunities like these allow our younger students to look up to older students as examples of leadership while giving our seniors the opportunity to practice service, humility, and responsibility.

These relationships help to build a stronger school culture where students understand that they are a part of something bigger than themselves and that their education is ultimately preparing them to contribute to their community.

During assembly Ms. Joy asked all of them a few questions including what their favorite thing about LCCA is. There was a common theme in their answers - most of them stating the teachers and the community being the highlight of their experience.
