Ways to develop your worship vocal team: blending!
Worship Leader, have you been wanting to develop your team’s talents but are unsure where to start? Today, let’s start with teaching them to blend their voices!
•Dynamics: how loud and soft to sing. Circle up your vocal team, tell them a vowel sound and give them a note. Have them hold that note together and match volume with the people around them. Use this to help with vocal rehearsals and teach them how loud and soft you need them to sing in services.

•Placement, Pronunciation & more. Give your team a chorus or bridge to sing together and listen for differences. Is someone singing more nasal, breathy, strong, throaty? Is someone’s vowel sound on a specific word different than what you need it to be? Is someone holding a note longer or shorter than necessary? Communicate to the team what you need!

Follow for more tips & tricks, and reach out with any questions or if you’d like to plan a Worship Development Event for your team!

One thing we love at Fisher Music Academy is, in addition to teaching instruments, helping worship teams grow. This video by Loop Community is a wonderful example of how tracks can enhance a worship team. Not by replacing a full team, but adding elements to allow the human team to be able to worship freely without trying to fill in gaps.
Keys 1 can now focus on a piano sound & pad, while the tracks handle a synth and organ sound.
Electric 1 can now focus on leads while tracks handle rhythm guitar, and so on.
If you’ve ever wondered why tracks are so popular in worship spaces, hopefully this video can help shed some light on the way it can be a useful tool for you and your ministry!
